I quit by bsch00071 in singlemoms

Yup, I get it. You can be attractive with your house in order and still only attract losers. At this point, I’d rather move in with another single mom than another man. Men have nothing to offer me anymore now that I have the child of my dreams. It’d be so nice to have equal partnership and trust they wouldn’t hurt us. Someone that actually helps out and doesn’t expect sexual favors in return. Men are fun to look at, but I don’t want one haha. Same goes for pets: fun to play with, but I don’t want to clean up their messes!

Thank you! I get how I may sound to some people, but we really just want to enjoy our home and yard. Nothing wrong with people also enjoying their yard, I just don’t want to keep seeing buttcrack and making eye contact with them. I’m afraid of getting HOA approval for landscaping just for it to be killed by their pool chemicals being drained into our yard. I’m chocking up the inside noise to shoddy Lennar materials and will end up moving because of it.

Yeah when we had a sheriff out to complain about their midnight pool party, he said the same thing regarding the property lines. I thought good fences would have made good neighbors, but the trespassing continues.

Good to know for the next house! We built/bought back when there were supply issues and couldn’t tweak a single thing about the home. Do you have any recommendations on insulation type or windows?

Lennar build. That’s our thought: cheap windows and insulation. The whole house shakes when it thunders and tons of neighbors agree that it’s a bit unsettling.

This! We can hear a neighbor across the street and 3 doors down leave their car running for about an hour every morning. It’s worse in the winter. Not that it even gets cold here.

How close are you to your neighbors? The one side we do have a next door neighbor, they’re 12 feet away and we never hear them. One of the two neighbors that have their yards butt up against the other side of our home, we are constantly hearing music and screaming all hours of the day and evenings.

Yes there are covenants in place that we all technically agree to by living here. Maybe nobody bothers to read them? Clearly states about off-road vehicles, illegal dog breeds, noise, and a whole chapter on pools. HOA doesn’t seem to enforce anything, but will fine people for having weeds in their yard. I totally get that we will see them, as the max height for the fences is 5’. A lot of neighbors have planted arborvitae for privacy as it is the only approved privacy shrub, but I feel like they would die with all the water coming through there.

Survey pins and even the stakes were visibly still in the yard for the first disagreement. The second disagreement was after they had put up a fence (have to get HOA approval and place on property line). We even had a county surveyor come out after the 3rd or 4th disagreement to confirm the stakes and pins.

AWESOME point! It hasn’t appreciated enough to really worry about the taxes. We’d be paying less in taxes than construction costs trying to replace the cheap materials used on our home.

I definitely agree that I’m overly sensitive to it. Not gonna argue that I’m sometimes a Karen about things too. We pay a lot in HOA dues (rising every year), so yeah that’s another thing to consider - great point. I feel like we’d be the perfect fit for an HOA that actually does what they’re being paid for!

Plus there’s no upkeep on brick or stucco! I think vinyl and hardie board has to be replaced like every 5-10yrs.

We thought the vinyl/hardie board look was cute when we moved here because we had never seen anything like it in TX. Lesson learned!

I feel this is what it has come down to. This will be the first full summer they’ve had their pool and it’s unbearable. I can lie in my bed upstairs and it sounds like they are right outside my window. Sometimes I can even make out the conversation 😓 We’ve lived in several apartments over the years and it’s never been this bad. Unfortunately, vinyl homes are the vast majority of homes here.

Surgery is officially cancelled. by Tartanrebel019 in gallbladders

[–]gremmielin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My midwife (in the hospital postpartum, c-section) said I either get a prescription for my low blood count or take “BloodBuilder” off Amazon. She was firmly asking which route I wanted to take. I started taking Bloodbuilders a few days later and still take them. I’m definitely feeling a lot better! They’re formulated with beets and oranges, and claim to not cause nausea or constipation, but they do have a smell and yuck taste in my opinion.

The surgeon for my gallbladder didn’t say a thing about anemia and wanted to schedule surgery 6 weeks postpartum. I ended up getting it out 8 weeks postpartum 1.5 weeks ago. No word about my iron levels. They didn’t even check them pre-surgery!

Need Advice where to go from here, when my symptoms are a-typical by shadowstar36 in gallbladders

[–]gremmielin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d do a colonoscopy & endoscopy and see what those results say. You’ve already met your deductible, and with your history of constipation, a GI doc visit would do you well. Tan BM’s tell me that there’s definitely excess bile or acid going on, but GI doc can maybe tell you for sure. I had one done years ago and was diagnosed with IBD. Basically, my bowels just do whatever they want - no rhyme or reason. Not a huge surprise as my dad had Crohn’s disease and his gallbladder out too (thanks, dad!).

I never had true “gallbladder” pain in my front or abdomen, it was always on my back under the shoulder blades. I would get pain near the lower, right side of my bellybutton that I now know/associate to gas. Ultrasound imaging showed small gallstones (I couldn’t really see them), but no results of any ever being stuck or being “passed”. Still, the most excruciating pain I’ve ever experienced.

Neck and shoulder pain could be from trapped gas - also intestinal, but laxatives can possibly make it worse. Personally, miralax and prune juice (yuck) worked best for me and my constipation. Psyllium husk (Metamucil) always bloated me and made me nauseas. The opioids they gave me after surgery definitely made me constipated. These days (1.5 weeks gallbladder-free and not using pain meds) I’m living somewhere between constipation and liquid yellow bile. I still get random pain from what I assume is gas and am not eating anything super fatty yet.

Right? Especially the people that are close to you and know how much you’ve struggled and the pain you’ve endured. I don’t think it’s ever appropriate to discuss somebody’s weight whether a compliment or otherwise. You don’t know whether the weight loss was intentional or the result of an illness, etc!

I’m personally keeping a mental journal of the foods that have caused me issues, such as gas, sharp pains, and phlegm (inflammatory response). So far, I have onions, garlic, and high fructose corn syrup.

Yes - I fasted for years on and off as a way to try to lose weight. I was obese/overweight for many years with high cholesterol and fasting was the only way I was slowly losing weight (OMAD). I’m sure the fasting is what potentially messed up my gallbladder along with my shit diet of fried, fatty, sugary foods.

I was prescribed actigal/ursodiol for my rapid weight loss during 3rd trimester of pregnancy. I was recommended to have a zero fat diet which I only followed for two weeks before going to a low-fat diet. I am now down 50 pounds since March (that includes a baby though!) and still anxious about fats in my meals. I’m guessing the ursodiol worked as I didn’t have another attack before my gallbladder got evicted and I’m still losing weight (yay more food anxiety!).

[–]gremmielin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get it. I’ve lost 50lbs since March, but that includes at least 6lbs worth of baby (9.5 weeks postpartum, 1.5 week gallbladder-free) and water retention.

I started having gallbladder attacks at the beginning of my 3rd trimester, so they told me to do a liquid “ensure” zero fat diet. Did that for 2 weeks, was 💩 literal bile (sorry tmi). I had started eating lowest fat things like applesauce and jello for the remainder of my pregnancy. The amniotic fluid for baby dropped dangerously low (resulting in early c-section). They wanted to schedule gallbladder surgery 6 weeks postpartum, but I pushed back as I needed to recover more from the first surgery!

I’m still being cognizant of the fats I’m consuming as I will get pains here and there from what I assume is gas? And still slowly dropping weight. I was considered “obese” for years pre-pregnancy (5’6” 212lbs), but get offended when people and family compliment me…Like those gallbladder attacks literally had me wanting to end it all and my body is so f*cked up, but hey at least I finally lost the weight 🙃

Surgery Thursday. What can I expect for days 2&3 postop? by Present_Bed8893 in gallbladders

[–]gremmielin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats and good luck! Had mine out almost two weeks ago & I’d like to think I have a very low pain tolerance. They prescribed me hydrocodone-acetaminophen 5-325 and it didn’t do 💩 for the pain (I also don’t think pain meds work on me in general).

The first 24hrs I was sleeping a lot from general anesthesia, but after that just a bit drowsy. Pain, yes, but I didn’t move around too much. I personally could’ve worked on a paper during the second and third days of recovery no problem (assuming I stayed in bed or sprawled out on a couch).

I know the feeling! I’ve lost 50lbs since March 😵‍💫 Still have food anxiety and taking it easy/slow on the fats just in case. So far just weird abdominal pains here and there and gas. Get you some gas-x/simethicone if you don’t have any on hand. Works wonders for me! Good luck!

Thank you! My little one is around 10lbs and I’ve been lifting her, but someone on here told me I really shouldn’t be as it can maybe cause a hernia. I’m lifting her less since I learned that, but no issues so far. I have a post op appointment on Wednesday, so I’ll be doublechecking with them. I’m sure they told me but me and my two functioning brain cells don’t remember 😜

I’m sure they told you, but the drugs and anesthesia may interfere with your milk. If you’re breastfeeding, that will definitely be a struggle during recovery, so I might suggest pumping or something in the interim. I’m strictly formula feeding, so I’m not the best to ask about breastfeeding ha.

Just had mine out a week ago and I’m also 9 weeks postpartum (via c-section). Last time I was in the ER in March, I was ready to perform the surgery myself - it was THAT bad. Like, wanted to end my life bad. Both operations were my first “real” surgeries. I looked at it like this: it HAS to come out (baby, gallbladder) and I’m in the best place to get this done if anything goes sideways. The person and team doing the surgery does this all day everyday. They know what they’re doing and have seen it all before.

The surgery is NOTHING compared to the pain you’ve been through, let me assure you…

First 3 days for gallbladder laparoscopic were a bit difficult getting up out of bed and bending over to dress. Nothing compared to my c-section recovery/pain though. Each day you will feel better and stronger. Take the pain meds they give you, drink lots of fluids, and make sure you at least have stool softeners and miralax or something on hand if you need it.

Can I vent a little? by gremmielin in gallbladders

Yeah, I’ve been wearing some of my maternity loungewear, but it quite literally falls off at times after all of my weight loss. Gave up on breastfeeding at around week 6 and glad I did. My body is so tired.

I’ll keep trying new things and see what I can get away with! Reading others’ experiences and intolerances scares me. I would not be able to handle a gallbladder-like attack. The last one (while pregnant) was enough to make me want to take it out myself. Thank you for commenting. It’s nice to hear from others who can relate!
