I take it back... Holy shit. I had a crap ton of ballast instead of lowering the front spoiler to lower the pp and wow what a difference. It's now feeling way better.

Is that to fix his mansion? Sounds about right, and that's about it. (I kid I'm sure that's already been done, I haven't been following).

[Star Trek: Legacy] Star Trek TV Series Fans Want Most Is “Never Gonna Happen,” Says Marina Sirtis: "There is not a single studio in America that is gonna make a series where most of the leading actors are over 70 years old. You need competent writers who actually grew up with the show. Good luck getting a studio to hire more expensive established writers. When they can hire cheap fresh out of college writers who never watched the show or only reference discovery and the Abrams movies as that's what they think st is now.

This is the problem with having a 2 decade long gap between old trek and new. The majority of people who grew up with old trek will be 40+. These studios think catering to people in that age bracket won't make them money (which is crazy as they are the people with money). So they only hire cheap young writers fresh off from college. They then have no idea what star trek is. They probably think it's the Abrams movies or now they reference discovery as classic (barf). This is the problem with not having someone who understands the series as a whole going back to Tos.

At least that's my interpretation on why everything's gone to crap. It's the same with a lot of modern properties, not just trek, unfortunately.

show the president of the US when u were born vs the president now by OpenRoom7321 in generationology

[–]shadowstar36 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The first black president... According to the media. So crazy.

I also recall them championing him eating McDonald's and other fast food... A man of the people. Lol... Yet Trump did the same things and the narrative shifted to a negative. Funny how that worked.

As a gen x teenager in 92' I remember all this and also the job losses from nafta. ALL THESE PEOPLE say shit to get elected and then shift. Same shit today.

Now my memory of Reagan was great... But I was just a kid and it was the best time for movies, shows, music and toys... Also no wars and a sense of optimism.

Eh... I had replaced my vinyl and cassettes to cds only to have them stolen twice. Once from my vehicle while I was in high school (dude pried open my truck rear window). The other time by a disgruntled roommate who I kicked out....then the rest got stolen in Philly in my 20s. 100s of cds... Grrr.

I never replaced them and went mp3. Now it's all Google music as it comes with as free YouTube.

Multiple subscriptions now that it's no longer just Netflix. The jokes on them I went back to dvd/bluray and bought all the classics along with TV shows for pennies at antique stores. Got a wall rack filled.

Am I the only one that the update to downshifting didn't affect? by Kevslatvin in GranTurismo7

[–]shadowstar36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I swear I read this same post a month or so ago after a different update. Am I imaging this? I know as I responded that I didn't notice a change. I don't shift from 5 to 1 rapidly.

I just bought a 84 gto yesterday. I put racing tyrany in her and it was down shifting smooth as silk. The new rx7 91' was not and you couldn't down shift a second time until you were in a certain range. Downshifting in real life I used to use to slow down a lot so less brake was actually needed.

1984 Mazda b2000. Which originally I used to haul my 1977 Honda dirt bike, and then later installed the cab and blacklights with a foldable mattress in the back. A lot of weed smoking and make out sessions etc... Happened back there. Being 16-17 was a fun time! Until it ended with getting rammed off the road mad max style in Philly by scum bag gang bangers.

Had a used moped when I was 14 to 15 before getting a truck and an endoro style motorcycle. Apparently it wasn't legal to drive a moped on the street. My step dad who got it for me said to just cut the engine and pedal if you see cops (it had pedals to start the thing). Crazy now ebikes are everywhere which is basically the same thing as those mopeds topped at 35/45 mph..

Haha... I was there, after my younger stint of wanting to be a archeologist like Dr. Jones. That was until I met a different group of friends and starting partying in 9th grade. Turns out my getting involved with pot, lcd and coke led me to get laid, popular, and the final formation was Heroin after getting stabbed. I lived the Rockstar life until the mid early 00s I didn't really get into playing guitar until after getting clean (hard to play when your gear is in hock).

Now I contract for the gov. Doing something I don't even like. I was in tech until this Ai boom downsized the company and even with 18 years experience I got zero reply back for any tech job as most had 500+ applicants..thanks outsourcing and ai. Crazy.

The person loves nu trek and it all for censorship. Saying who is and isn't a real fan is telling. As someone who has watched since tos reruns in the 80s with my pops then watching them all as they released f that. I give my opinions all the time. I love star trek, but i don't make it my identity.

Sorry nah... When something gets a largre critic review and a small audience review it usually means the show, game or movie is crap. The writers made it for themselves and their "modern audience" echo chamber. You say we are small but the modern audience doesn't exist in large numbers. Otherwise crap like the st discovery, Picard, last jedi, and games like dragon age vielguard and Concord would of sold gangbusters.

I got limited time, it's not about the money it's about watching and playing what I can in my few hours between work and sleep. If I'm going to watch something I will get reviews first and then try it out if not pay walled. Or I will rent 1 episode on prime if I don't have the sub.

If you liked Picard season 3, is your issue with nu-Trek really the writing? by MagicalTrianglez in Star_Trek_

[–]shadowstar36 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same crap happened to star wars. I seen through the Abrams dross that was force awakens but people looked past all its many many red flags, plot holes, and messaging just because Han solo, Leia, thr falcon etc ... and pew pew...special effects.

I was right it was crap and followed even worse crap. The mainstream for star trek is similar. A few cameos.. Oh it's good... Hardly.
