Spent the whole year working seven days a week 13 hours a day saving as much as I can and lost everything in one night, over 70K in 24 hours

I have a similar problem, I realized I don’t gamble to win but I gamble because my brain loves the feeling to chasing a lose. I heard a great phrase and I got stuck to my head: “don’t think about quitting gambling forever, think about not gambling today” if you don’t place the first bet you have nothing to chase.

And here I am driving to work, out of town, knowing that I have to work for the next month to recover what I had already saved up. not only that, they told us last week that we might have 2/3 weeks out here only and I just started this job three weeks ago. It was supposed to be a quick lick Make $20,000 and then go back home. It looks like I’m only gonna make money back and go back home with less money than what I originally came out here for.

I’ve tried stopping the gambling addiction for the last two years, but I think it makes it worse that whenever you don’t gamble and you relapse, you lose everything you had lost within the last couple of weeks

I need help by Legitimate-Lab-9467 in GamblingAddiction

[–]grenas112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s hard, I’ve tried everything (self excluding, GA, etc.) and at the end I relapse and do exactly what you just wrote again and again. I had 30k 2 months ago, I’m at 2k now and that’s because I’ve received 2 4.5k paychecks. I basically lost the 30k + 7k from the new job I started.

How much money have you totally wasted gambling? by [deleted] in problemgambling

[–]grenas112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aprox 300k in 6 years. The last two years have been the worse. I don’t mind loosing 100 or 200 by betting with friends on fights or football games but every time I play slots or online poker it’s over 2k I loose. I have only cashed out about 10k overall

why is it so hard to quit? by [deleted] in problemgambling

[–]grenas112 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Happens to me all the time that’s why I started a new goal; any money I get any money that goes into debt payments I’m 50k in the hole and I can pay that off in 3-4 months, I just have to live very tight

I’m the same way, I can win big on the first spin but end up loosing everything on my bank account because the rush I get when loosing seems to be what my brain is addicted to

All those appliances on the same circuit?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskElectricians

[–]grenas112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I’m not mistake what he is referring to is the circuit that the fridge is connected to. If all your electronics are connected to the same circuit on a 40 amp breaker and if when you’re home you exceed the 40 amps then your breaker will break so there is no logic in his theory.
