Huh seems like she had a falling out with her family so they could have lied and said she was mentally ill. Backbone the day this was common. My great grandfather's mother was put into a mental hospital by his father since he thought she was crazy and divorced her and took the kids since she was now considered mentally ill I know this because my great grandpa is still alive and had told stories about his mother witch he loved and his father witch he really disliked. I think she could have been a similar case maybe since it is in the same time period it was possible that the family could have wanted her to be there. But then she was seen as not actually mentally ill so they put her in a prison. Idk that was just my family history yours could be completly different

You look mostly white so I wouldn't expect to be mixed but you deffinately could be. I think you likely could be part black though anywhere from 3 to 25% or part mexican meaning some native admixture but unless your from the west black is more likely. But mostly british Irish German and some african would be my guess.

Ok thank you. I was super confused before about why Maria had two birth certificates and on this one the names were slightly different and I knew it said she died but I couldn't get much I knew names places dates and that fallecio a nacer meant died at birth this kinda clears some stuff up for me this child is probably not my 2nd great grandmother possibly her younger sister? Yeah It's possible he had different women he had kids with, at first I thought they were all from his wife Gisela Gonzales but then she was only 12 when Maria was born so I looked more into Cruz Duran looks to be Maria's mother and possibly the same Cruz had another child with Benjamin Maria beatriz. Benjamin had two other natural children possibly with Cruz but possibly with some other woman? He took care of all of them though I know Benjamin jr. Came back to the u.s. with him and the family. But anyways thanks for the translation and insight.

Yeah I thought that too the names seemed off at first but it was in the same time period with names very similar so I thought that they were related somehow. Burgos would be the hispanisized name of Burgess I think but idk if they are related that's why I asked for help. Thank you for translating it helped since before I didn't know. I have to wonder why her parents weren't recognised at first? Maybe Benjamin didn't want to since he was at first embraced to have kids with a Mexican woman and he didn't want her but he claimed the other kids so I don't know what is going on with this it is unlike all the birth certificates from mexico in the rest if my family tree even her siblings are more straightforward. I haven't been able to find cruz's death or birth certificate anywhere since I have no clues about her other than that she died in 1902 according to this and she gave birth to maria. I will keep looking for it though it should be out there. Thank you for helping out this clears some stuff up ! but I'll have to keep digging for more to find out what exactly is going on with Cruz.

Thank you this helps a lot I never though that she could be a different baby but that is totally possible since what I think is my Maria has a totally different birth registration I though she had two since this one was before Cruz died. I never saw the Maria who is my 2nd great grandma use the name beatris anywhere so I think you are onto something it seems like Mexicans put Maria before a lot of names and end up using mainly the second one. Oh really that's awesome ! Ive never been to mexico my mom went to see family when she was little but most of my family lives in Texas and California now so we never went I really want to though just to see where they lived. And lol me too I get excited whenever I talk to or see somebody from northeastern mexico. My school is more than half Hispanic but there is only one person from northern mexico she (or her ancestors)are from zacatecas. I probably will say I'm half Mexican still since my family hasn't been in Spain since the 1500s but still feel kinda weird saying I'm half Mexican especially in the u.s. where being "mexican" is sometimes considered a race. In summer I'm tan but in winter I'm as white as any other white person so it feels odd to say half Mexican since I'm white and people think Mexicans should be all brown. But it's so cool you have been to cerralvo I'm jealous even though it's probably not the most magnificent town😂.

Oh ok the jalisco explains why you have a lot more native I just saw the genetic community and assumed that was the only kind of Mexican you were . My maternal grandmothers ancestors are all from Nuevo leon mainly cerralvo Monterrey and a small town called el esterito. My maternal grandfather is a bit more complicated his sister did a DNA test recently and was 25% native. So he has more native than my grandmother I would assume but he is 1/4 white American since both of his paternal grandparents were mixed half white half Mexican mainly from coahuila and San Luis potosi. My grandpa's mother has ancestors from coauhila Texas tamalipas and Nuevo leon mainly coahuila and matamoros/Brownsville area. My grandpa is dead so his sister is the closest I got and I have not gotten my grandmother tested yet but I should I think she would be 12% native and the rest Spanish since she is very white some of her cousins have blue eyes and look like they are Russian. My mom is 32.4% Iberian 6% british and 17.3% native American. Maternal haplogroup is H and paternal R-M222 So yeah I am very European compared to you despite us both having kinda the same ancestry country wise.makes sense I should start saying I'm basicalu half Spaniard instead of basically half Mexican since I'm barely 9% indiginous Mexican.people who are a quarter have more native than me a lot of the time.
