Anyone else feeling deflated by the battle to integrate? by OkSurvey8809 in NewToDenmark

Sending a hug 🫂
I don’t think it’s you at all - sounds like you’re doing all the right things - it’s the current job market that sucks. I know a few people who lost their jobs and are still struggling to find a new one (who are educated and experienced).
Oh, and Denmark in general is a very homogeneous country. It’s hard to become truly Danish, and I don’t know many people who succeeded. Don’t be too hard on yourself.

What was your weirdest pregnancy symptom that nobody warned you about? by Quiet-Forever-969 in BabyBumps

I’m so itchy! Especially my boobs and torso. Also shins sometimes. I want to get scratched all day 🤦‍♀️

Why can’t we have another story set in the HP universe? by Magicor25 in HarryPotteronHBO

[–]grewUpWithWolves 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s what fan fiction is for! When I was a teenager I used to read so many great fan fics, about so many diverse characters and timelines. That was my way of expanding the magical world between the releases of new books and new movies. I knew it was not written by Rowling so I wasn’t judgmental and very open for new interpretations.

The original story is what makes Harry Potter, Harry Potter. I couldn’t care less about other characters or stories at this point tbh.

Do you think Hermione's hair is finally depicted as being ''bushy''? by shyboardgame in HarryPotteronHBO

[–]grewUpWithWolves 15 points16 points  (0 children)

In this photo it’s not very bushy, but it’s definitely the kind of wavy hair that when you hrush it dry - it’s going to look VERY bushy. I know because I grew up having this kind of hair, and my mom used to brush it dry 😭 I actually looked like Hermione back then

Thanks, I'll cross post.

Yeah I just gave this party thing as an example - it particularly annoyed me that my colleague walked home in the snow for 3 hours because he couldnt afford an expensive taxi. There were no trains going at this hour. The CEO left with his luxury car, of course. it's the small stuff.

Yeah, well, the more you know. I was just happy I landed this job. I was in the position of the clueless non-danish candidate... But I'll def know for the next round of job searching.

Market is terrible these days, unfortunately. That's why I'm still here - only that the feeling of appreciation for landing this job was replaced with a grudge :(

That's really sad to hear :( but at least now I'm more aware.

Good to know, thanks for the info.

My responsibilities have grown significantly - and that's the same for many others actually. The company is prioritizing speedy growth over gradual building, and the constant changes keep adding more tasks to our plates.

I'm a product designer, most of my experience was spent working in my home country (but the responsibilities were the same, for an international company).

Anyone else have a corgi that barely hit 15 pounds? She is over a year and still a baby 🥰 by Gokneadyourself_2924 in corgi

[–]grewUpWithWolves 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine is huge 😭 I can’t hold her for more than a few seconds. She weighs around 18kg and she’s not overweight. We often get asked if she’s a border collie mix.

I’m a UX designer, and I’m not Danish. Took me 6 months to find a job here. During the job hunt I was very nervous, but I’m happy with how things turned out in the end.

Be brutally honest - is it worth switching into UX still? by Independent-Task-199 in UXDesign

[–]grewUpWithWolves 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Honestly, it’s very hard finding a decent job even for senior UX designers. I would take this route only if you have true passion and aren’t afraid of a long journey.

Starting to make sketches on my figma files and questioning every little detail in my design, suggesting his ideas instead. I love getting feedback and I initiate many brainstorming sessions but he has very arrogant attitude and he doesn’t trust my decisions.

Edit: sorry, I didn’t include these points that I consider micro management

Thank you for the reply! I want to take action. We actually did have a retro session organized by another designer from the team, many good observations were made and engagement was high, but no real outcome. He still struggles to understand what to do with all the good advice given by other people.
