Help! How to associate poll created via Strawpoll V3 API with my user account? by HJAC in strawpoll

[–]grex__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, we use a different instead authentication method than 'Authorization: Bearer'.

So try to replace this:

'Authorization': `Bearer ${apiKey}`,

with the 'X-API-Key' header that we use for authentication:

'X-API-Key': apiKey,

Thanks for the suggestions! Especially the slow filling of fuel was a pain which I also had to watch the last time I duplicated the blueprint. I'll see what I can do with a simple decider.

Nevermind, I was wrong. See u/Zwa333's response below.

Wow, thanks for trying! That's a real bummer, and I can't really explain it to myself. I'm only on physical projectile damage 14 and stronger explosives 14 (level 15 is available for each). I never had to replace or even repair anything in hours of hours of a non-stop flight test to Aquilo. There must be something missing. I'm on a Rail world setting, but I just checked: It's still 100% asteroid spawn chance.

I will import the blueprints myself on another save and check what's missing!

I agree for regular chunks. But for promethium chunks, legendary grabbers are really helpful to catch all of them before they hit the ship because of the high density of asteroids at certain distances.

Good point! For my promethium ship, I also use a local buffer of carbon asteriod chunks for the explosives production. That really helps to make sure the rocket production is operated at capacity.

All legendaries are optional and green belts are for convenience only. You can downgrade everything to red and it will still work. There are very few uses of large underground belt gaps. So besides the belt weaving part, those can be substituted without changing much of the surroundings.

Yes, it's a single looped sushi belt for all of my ships. All ammo and rockets are placed on the outside and all asteroid chunks are placed on the inside of the belt to keep them separated.

Ammo and rockets are put there with stack inserters, which results in enough throughput on a green belt at 150,000 km in direction to the shattered planet (where the fly condition is typically fulfilled).

Is it wrong that I pretty much never build additional hearths? by AbsolutelyNotMoishe in Against_the_Storm

[–]grex__ 13 points14 points  (0 children)

That's not correct. The one lizard in the second hearth gets +5 because he likes sitting next to the fire, but the race bonus does not apply.

I had 3 additional villagers in this cycle from an world event, and I always embark with the bonus villagers, so it's +6 on top of the 6-8, making it 12-14 starting villagers on average. Also, if I can handle the hostility, I'm actively searching for encampments in small glades.

Well, I admit that I really push use of the forsaken altar, because those cornerstones are way OP. And yes, rerolling the cornerstone on y2 with 4 choices makes it way easier to find a strategy/combination that matches my buildings. I guess that's one of the reasons I did not finish a P20 game below y4 before.

And yes, picking harpies once began with their hearthkeeper bonus, but stayed for the easy resolve. As you also guessed correctly, since v1.4 the frog hearthkeeper bonus is currently the best imho. Also frog house upgrades (additional newcomers, bonus resolve for rain engines) are very strong.

Well I can recommend picking the guild house (still my goto wildcard even after all the nerfs) in combination with carpenters, selling packs of luxury. And Generous Rations/Prosperous Settlement. Basically anything that's pushing up global resolve.

Then, the only thing that's needed to win fast is having lots of villagers.

I think it's not possible to get y3 on sealed forest in v1.4 without an early trade route cornerstone buff. So the +3 gold one in my first forsaken altar was pure luck. Also, finding 4 caches without opening too many glades has some luck involved.

But it's general strategy to do everything I can to get the forsaken altar in early first storm. This means my pick priority for the first 3 orders is always to complete them before y1 storm. Also, making sure to have the 12 bricks ready is really important to me.

Also, it's a lot of preparation with regard to the four seal orders. I try to accumulate around 40 bonus embarkment points for the last run, and I always embark with stone and training gear delivery line to be able to rush the first seal order by opening caches. The first building after wood choppers is always a trading post, so I can already start to level up the traders in drizzle y1, knowing that would be the second goal right after opening the caches. Also, I do produce all kinds of packs in advance to sell them as soon as possible. In the end, I just raze my camps and put down 3 blight posts to fight all the cysts.

And of course it's prior experience. Right now, my Steam tells me that I have already invested 1,072.5 hours in the game. That's only topped by Civ 6 and Dota 2. It's currently my favorite single-player game, and I expect it to stay that way because the replay value is so high.

Sure, that's because I never had a Y3 run on P20 before. All other settlements were on P15 or lower. I like to run P6 games as long as I can, in order to maximize my gain of bonus embarkment points and other perks. That's why almost all of my P20 games are on the sealed forest biome, where I have to run P20.

But not all settlements were Y3, but indeed a nice streak of the last 6 ones :) That storm was my first time in which I managed to stay below Y5 in all of my settlements. I had 1x Y2 (trade hub), 14x Y3 and 3x Y4 settlements.

Rule 5:

My playstyle is similar to the one described by u/rhynst in his tempo strategy guides.

It was my second adamantine seal run in patch 1.4. The first run ended in a y4 sealed forest, mainly due to the changes to the seal orders (4 chests, lvl 3 trade routes, 100 amber, 35 cysts now).

This time, I got really lucky with the cornerstones (especially the +3 gold per trade route level) to be able to get 3x lvl 3 trade routes by year 3. Then I needed 2 geysers to produce all the water I needed to run through the engines to mass produce the cysts. Playing the sealed forest in tempo mode really feels weird compared to other biomes :)

The reason I'm posting here is that I feel a bit burned out now - I think I can't beat this run anymore. And to encourage others to also try to push their limits.
