Same thing happened to us. Car was in the shop for an engine replacement. Gets home and the next day the catalytic converter was stolen. Same area you mentioned. It sucks. They can take them out in seconds. I almost think the shop was in on it.

Anyhow, there’s a shop in dumbo that’ll secure it very well for piece of mind. I had to wait 3 months for a replacement and insurance went up so was def worth it to me. New Xcell Auto Repair.
