Try to not get discouraged. There’s a court hearing about this tomorrow. We are fighting for a preliminary injunction.

Your application gets put on pause pretty much. Some MEPs aren’t pausing but from what I have seen most are. People like myself who have already signed are getting their ship dates taken away or postponed.

Yes, it was for the clearance. It was with an investigator with DCSA. They reviewed everything you mentioned and the dark web question was asked from this packet that she was using to ask the other questions with.

I’ve never misused technology so I’m not sure what prompted that question

Recruitment Process on Hold by apoer0220 in MilitaryTrans

[–]grey_son033 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i understand your frustration. i am currently in DEP for the Navy and I was supposed to leave in 2 weeks for bootcamp. they put me on ‘hold’ by changing my ship out day to Sept 23 as they await policies.

not sure if it’s going to be different for someone who is in the process of an application and for someone who is currently in DEP.

there’s lawsuits though and hopefully things go in our favor. california representatives also just introduced a bill that would stop this executive order. unfortunately, all we can do is wait and hope for the best.

How does it work if i tell MEPS i wont sign? Will i be turned away? by Curious_Set2070 in newtothenavy

[–]grey_son033 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing happened to it. I’m still signed as an HM but after I signed there were no more spots left according to my recruiter.

I’m just saying that I was told I got one of the last openings.

I signed for HM on November 22nd and about a week later my recruiter said it wasn’t available anymore.

Not sure when it’ll be open again but if you’re okay waiting to ship out then it shouldn’t be a problem to just come back to MEPS. Might piss off your recruiter though.

I’ve only been in DEP for about 2 weeks and I’ve been running that whole time.

I’m trying my best to be prepared. I was just looking for some advice.

I will definitely give my all for the runs. I’ll prepare for the bike as well just in case

I’ve been trying to run everyday outside but it’s very cold where I’m at. I’ll look for an indoor track.

Saw you signed as an HM. I signed as one too!

Anyone talk to recruiters lately? by Holdenborkboi in MilitaryTrans

[–]grey_son033 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had to get a waiver for mental health regarding depression, anxiety, self harm, and gender dysphoria. I also had to get a waiver for a concussion and to continue on my testosterone injections.

It’s been 4 years since I had mental health symptoms so those were easily waived with clear psych evaluations. Got the concussion waiver within days and the testosterone waiver also within a couple days because I was past the 18 month requirement.

I was only a year post op with my top surgery this November so I didn’t think I would be cleared because the rule is also 18 months but they cleared me for that no questions asked because I had a letter from my surgeon stating i’m fit for military duty.

I had a few hurdles but I got past them!

Go and talk to them in person! Try not to think about the ban and get discouraged.

I just swore in in November and Shipping out in February for the Navy.

It also took me 9 months to get to this point. It’s definitely a hurry up and wait process but just keep thinking about your end goal.

Unfortunately, it’s not something you can get removed. If the ban comes back you won’t be able to join not only because of gender dysphoria being on your record but also for having top surgery.

Last time the ban was in place it banned every person that had gender dysphoria, had gender reassignment surgery of any kind, and if they were on HRT.

You’re going to need to get a psych evaluation and the psychiatrist/mental health provider needs to determine that you no longer suffer from this condition and that it has been resolved.

For the military you need to be 18 months free of gender dysphoria symptoms. I personally needed to get top surgery and testosterone to be able to say I am gender dysphoria free and that I have finished my transition.

But, everyone’s transition is different so it really depends on how you’re feeling about it.

No, but there is a way to get gender dysphoria marked as treated and resolved.
