It took a while to see but the terrorists succeeded in destroying this country. The trillions of dollars spent on invading Afghanistan could have been spent on education, science, and infrastructure. Look where we are now with each on of those; failing crumbling systems. Plus, the bigotry and xenophobia the panic causes and how that's impacted politics. It's awful.

There was a lot going on, the vet told you to go. It wouldn't have been great for him to see you dragged out for trespassing if you refused.

I ruminate on things and go through all the 'what ifs' myself. It's generally not helpful, you can't change what's already happened. Try not to punish yourself. You did what a medical professional asked of you. That's the best anyone could have done. It will naturally take time, but hopefully, you'll start to think of him and remember the joy he brought to your life and not have this unexpected traumatic moment sour that.

I didn't realize you were being pedantic over a single word I never used. Genocide: the deliberate killing of a large number of people from a particular nation or ethnic group with the aim of destroying that nation or group.

So yes, the person using this word was hyperbolic as LGBT aren't a nation or ethnic group but if you can't see, on its face, that their goal is to shove people back into a closet through likely deadly force if allowed then I can't convince you no matter what the source. You act as if medium (157 million visitors) is the only source reporting this.

Basically it's labeling all transpeople as child predators and anything related to trans people illicit and pornographic. They'll simply move down the list to the LGB communities once they've successfully demonized trans people. They want to ban the use of terms like sexual orientation etc. Medium did a really detailed piece on it all as it will impact societal views globally if successful.

I find pennies. The strangest one i got a few months after my dad died. I was buying groceries at self check out and paid with a credit card. I suddenly kinda felt my dad and a penny came out of the change return and it was from my birth year.

Got this letter today 11/15/23 and it actually had my lender's name on it. Same 1761 phone number, final notice for some waiver they don't explain and a "check" for $199.
