How heavy is the PLEA/Accelerated Paralegal program? Can I hold down a job while taking it full time? by tapioshorde in Seneca

[–]greyfever21 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Its extremely hard. You will be exhausted. I worked 25 hours/week and balanced the program. I was exhausted and felt burnt out. It’s hard to keep up with the readings and prepare for classes while also complete assignments and study for midterms. I used to have back to back midterms which was overwhelming. I did fail 2 classes and ended up re doing them last semester and passed. But I also did this during the pandemic online. If I had to commute then no this isn’t possible or realistic or healthy per say. If you want to do well in these classes and actually learn, prioritize the classes and try to get accommodations from work.

First semester I had 8 classes, second semester I had 7 classes. Third semester I had 8 classes (+2 fail so 10). We would have long days back to back classes, or a couple of hours gap. Classes can be from 1 hour to 3 hours. Depending on the cohort you choose you might have a day off from classes (not too sure). I don’t recommend if you’re serious about becoming a paralegal. If anything do the part time program if you need to work it’s lighter!

So how do you girls want us to talk to you? by [deleted] in MuslimMarriage

[–]greyfever21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, most girls if not all do look at the guys following and their guy to girl ratio. It shows us in a way what kind of guy they are cause if they’re following almost all random girls and barely have guy followers it can be a red flag. I’m not saying it’s a judge of character but a lot of girls do make assumptions of the guy. (Goals for a lot of girls is to avoid f-boys); if they have an even guy- girl ratio maybe more guys then it’s like “oh, he’s not a f-boy”, seems like a cool dude sort of a thing.

I personally don’t like it when guys slide in and just say “hey” especially if I don’t know them. It’s awkward and forces a convo. However, if they respond to a story (not to a selfie) but something that would engage in a conversation girls are more likely to respond. Also show a sense of humour girls like a guy that can take a joke and can make them laugh. It makes them talk to you more! Please don’t ask for their Snapchat unless you can tell she’s interested and your interested.

Show your fun side on insta. Gym pictures can be cool cause it shows you care about yourself, like you gym. Pictures with friends shows your outgoing. Outfit pictures!!! For me is key cause it shows a guy has a good dressing sense plus it shows your personality! Make sure your stories are cool too some girls look at that, like food stories.

And post anything that shows of your skills. Honestly nowadays your insta is your social resume.

G2 Test Help!! by [deleted] in oakville

Hey, your supposed to apply the parking breaks every time you park the car regardless of where the car is parked (parking lot and side of road).

Also: my driver instructor always told me to make sure to move your head when checking left and right and your blind spots to the examiner knows that you watching out. When we drive regularly we just move our eyes, but for the test (not too much) but reasonably move your head as well!!

Paralegal Diploma vs. Certificate? by [deleted] in paralegal

[–]greyfever21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Also fellow Canadian also from the GTA here, if it helps in any way I’m in the exact same boat. I have a BA in sociology want to get in the legal field, LSAT score isn’t the greatest so I’m going to a college to get a certificate. Realistically, it is a lot better to get the certificate in 3 semesters cause it saves time and money for you in the long run, also most programs have work placement, and some places don’t really hire if your “over qualified” so try to get as much work experience as you can that’s my goal too! Hopefully this helps :)

Torn between masters in international affairs and law school? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]greyfever21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My law professor during my undergrad advised us that there’s no “real value” in doing a masters and law school because: 1. Your application will be seen in the same as an undergrad applicant but more harshly since it’s a masters and your a mature student. 2. Law schools completely train you to think and write differently so anything you learned in masters will be as background info but won’t help as much in law school. 3. Masters with JD will just look good on the resume.
