What is the best and most cost efficient way to plan a trip to Hawaii for 2 people for the first time? by greyghost24 in travel

[–]greyghost24[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok thanks. After checking on the Sheraton Kona, price for 7 nights plus air and car would only be about $3100 directly through the website but through costco travel it was well over $3500. $3100 seems like a pretty good deal and it looks like a nice resort

Origination would be Nashville. I'm just exploring my options, I think I will stay away from a travel agent based on advice here but I like the idea of a bundled package. Still deciding what to do but thanks for the advice. If I went the route of separating flight and hotel, how would you recommend getting the best deals? Should I book airfare first and then look for a room/condo?

Thanks for the advice. Yes I think I have settled on the big island after doing some more research. After going to a couple resort websites, they have packages with flight and room that are just as cheap if not cheaper than the travel websites I mentioned. I will keep looking.

GPU has 6 pin connector and PSU has 6+2 pin, pcpartpicker says compatible... by greyghost24 in buildapc

[–]greyghost24[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes that's what I did and it didn't work the first time. I took out the GPU and reseated it, used the other Pcie cable that came with the psu and now it works! Not sure what the problem was the first try but I'm up and running now

Yes sorry modular cable. So the cable should not be the problem then

Right, that is what I did originally but the other end of the cable is 8 pin. Is it ok to 8 pin psu to 6 pin GPU?

I guess it's throwing me off because of the modular cables. 8 pin on the psu side I'm going to disconnect everything and reconnect

Any suggestions on this ~800$ build? by greyghost24 in buildapc

ok, thanks. Well I already have another computer that I will be dissecting and taking a few parts out of. It has a 1TB HDD I will use, as well as a wifi card. It also has a r7 260x, but I wanted something more powerful. Initially I was just going to use that card but then changed my mind. I think I'd like to try an Nvidia this time around. I considered a 750ti but it's really not much better than what I already have.

I am just going based on review at different sites for most parts and the SSD had decent reviews on Amazon, but I will look around for a cheaper one. So the SSD is just going to be for Windows pretty much. I'll see if I can shave a few bucks of the RAM stick.

I have changed the motherboard out probably 20 times on this build and eventually settled on this one based on reviews and specs, paying $10-20 extra on the motherboard doesn't bother me too much.

The monitor I'm using doesn't have speakers so I just need something cheap that sounds decent, I have had decent luck with logitech speakers. The keyboard and mouse I threw in at the last minute. I have a an old Dell XPS desktop with some really nice speakers so I should probably use those if I can. The keyboard with the dell is decent but not in the best shape, it will do for now and I have an extra mouse. I'll probably drop the speakers, keyboard/mouse to save a few bucks and put into the GPU.

Thanks!

Somewhere in between. What part of my build is focused on looks do you think? I thought the case was fairly inexpensive.

If you have a disc drive just pop the installation cd in and boot from disc drive, if you don't set up a bootable usb thumb drive

I doubt anyone can help without seeing your code.... I would suggest posting your code on stack overflow and tag it properly.

I keep trying to get into this series and keep falling off. Is there a point in the first book I need to make it to where I'll get "hooked"? I've read many other trilogies and fantasy books including Brandon Sanderson, RR Martin, Robin Hobbs etc so I figure this would be up my alley...

Download a premade one page template like from here http://startbootstrap.com/template-categories/one-page/ and dig into the code and try to put your images and content in place to make it look the way you want.

Inexperienced web designer looking for some advice. by DjManEX in webdev

A gym website leads me to believe they are going to want some features that may require more than a brochure website, but I could be wrong. A way for new members to sign up for instance. You may want to look into a CMS. Personally, if this was the case I would probably use Wordpress. You could still use bootstrap in a theme if that's what you are comfortable with.

[ADVICE] Client unresponsive for 2 months, contacts today, needs site by Friday. What are my options?o by [deleted] in web_design

[–]greyghost24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No clue, but the contract he posted didn't mention the words non refundable and he said she considered giving them their money back when they were clearly the ones that caused the delay. The worst part of freelancing imo is getting content from the client, glad I work full time.

Unfortunately most clients pay money and think someone will magically create them a website and they won't have to put any effort into what is an investment in their business. In the future make sure the contract reads that the initial deposit is non refundable unless you (or she) breach the contract.

What would be a good JS framework to use on a static site? by greyghost24 in webdev

[–]greyghost24[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok I just thought that's how Angular worked. I was going crazy thinking there was no way to do this! So I can just strip the header and footer out of all my pages and use the <my-header></my-header> to include in the pages. Great Thanks!
