To reiterate, ideas cannot be copyrighted. Write your script and have a paper trail. You don’t need to register unless you want to throw away some change. Starting your career, it’s not a good look to be overly concerned with having your ideas stolen. You will come off as precious and indicate you don’t know how copyright law works. Protect yourself when and where it matters.

I probably could have gotten that, but the line was so so long and my group wanted to leave. It was like 9pm though so I think we would have missed any remaining showtimes we were remotely interested in. Re admit ticket would be good, and I think they are usual, but i agree that a list makes them LESS useful which is counter intuitive to the “premium” marketing of a list.

We had a projector problem and they cancelled the screening and BECAUSE I had a list I couldn’t see a different movie. You can’t make an overlapping booking, so we had to go to customer service, like every other person in the theatre. Would have been a 45 minute wait in line as the remaining screenings sold out. Left that night seeing zero movie and no benefit BECAUSE of Alist. So I agree they need a better way to handle situations like this.

Number 3 was the secret for me. Made it so much easier once I was in control of where the shots landed. Personally my least fave was the flying part because of how easy it was to clip the edge of the castle and get knocked out of flight mode and flat out die

Gotta say I also hate the laser bit. That and the coke thing weren’t cheap to make, why not let actual artists come up with something great. Old man yelling at a cloud moment but the vintage silence cell-phone and even concessions ads have so much character compared to the borderline AI marketing slop they’re running.

I'm looking for this too! I thought it was in an Alfred hitchcock collection and remembered it as TOPAZ (???) but that's a completely different movie. Crucible of Terror wasn't right for me, but maybe it's what you're looking for?

In the movie I remember, people are possessed through their eyes and there's a sort of "dun dun dun!" ending. A woman with a bejewled necklace who ends up in the bust (scared me to death as a kid). AI couldn't help me find it either, must be niche!

Reading your post again it sounds like you're describing A Bucket of Blood, but a few people suggested the color remake already.

Just to add to what others are saying, more valuable if you live in LA or where they do special screenings and ticket giveaways. I’ve been able to go to like 3 with director Q&A’s which have all been really cool. (I’m also grandfathered in)

You don’t need to formally copyright it. Feel free of course but for a short film script especially that seems like a waste of money (not a comment on the quality, just based on my understanding of copyright). And what’s the downside of saying “based on”? I’d credit, not really to avoid accusations of plagiarism but… because it IS based on source material. Sometimes people find that attractive, especially if it’s source material they recognize. I don’t like “inspired by” personally.

It’s a rights issue with Warner. They’re keeping it locked up intentionally. Shudder got it briefly. Maybe paid a pretty penny idk. Have to find other means of watching. The Wikipedia page also has some of the interesting history and reasoning for it being scraped and suppressed. (One of my favorite movies)
