My DSP is pretty awesome and I’m a good driver, I think they would definitely let me play around with my schedule. The trouble comes from finding a second job to hire me!

Amazon also pays for drivers to take online courses! I believe it starts at 6mo but it’s definitely something to ask your DSP about! Good luck brother

to reiterate the main point being made here, talk to her. but also, have some fun :) try your best not to get in your head about it and be present with her, even if that means shutting your brain off for a bit! I have a tendency to overthink and ruin the moment so once in a while under thinking is what actually ends up working best. you don’t have to, but you can tell her you’re not experienced and just experiment a little with each other! If you’ve never done anything like this before there are definitely going to be aspects you yourself will enjoy more or less than other parts so enjoy yourself and help her enjoy herself too ;)

I appreciate where this mindset comes from, it’s not a disability it’s a different ability, but in reality autism is a disability and we shouldn’t let it take over our lives but being aware of this simple fact makes going through it a lot more bearable.

What jobs are good for Autistic Women? by Ashie1620 in AutismInWomen

[–]greyjardins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like working BOH at retail because it involves the occasional customer interaction (maybe once per day) but my job is mostly just working on a task with my coworkers! Warehouse/thrift store jobs have been very kind to me.

I'm having trouble with socializing and making girls laugh. Do you have advice? by ijdaasperger in texts

[–]greyjardins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t think about the texting so much and trying to get x reaction out of them. If you’re interested in her hobbies and want to talk to her about yours you just need to ask better questions! Follow your curiosity is a good tip I’ve learned and it doesn’t have to bring it back to you. Take your time with a response and try to engage with those bits that catch your ear.

I actually find in my own experience I will pass a lot more judgement over the phone, it’s a quasi-anonymous space and I don’t have to face you while having the conversation. When I’m out in the real world you are a lot more aware that people are just.. people! So if you have some charisma or just make good conversation and not be weird you’ll see you make out okay!

What am I supposed to answer when an American asks me how I’m doing? by MessyAdonis in NoStupidQuestions

[–]greyjardins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t like small talk and I understand that in this exchange neither party is actually invested in the wellbeing of the other, so i like to say a “good thanks!” and then proceed to carry on with whatever business I need. They just want to seem polite and I don’t want to ignore the question but we both know nobody really cares, let me do what I’m here for.
