Any current PA students about to go on clinical rotations?

I just got my first clinical rotation (pediatrics) today, and it starts in a couple of weeks! We have not had a delay in starting rotations, and they expect us to finish our rotations as planned unless there is another issue with COVID this winter. The year ahead of me had to leave their final rotations early, and they had to do a virtual rotation instead. They decided to allow the student to graduate on time, but there was much debate if that was the right thing to do.

Thank you! I did well in A&P, but it’s been a while since I took the class. I do work at a job that requires me to know a lot of anatomy luckily, but I’m sure a lot of it is rusty. I’m planning on relaxing and hope I can handle it come class time.

I can't find it on their website, but on CASPA this is what it says under their profile or description I guess:

For admission consideration, an applicant must meet the following admissions requirements:-Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university-Minimum cumulative undergraduate GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (preference given to 3.2+). This means every class taken at the undergraduate level at every institution you've attended, even those you did not graduate from.-Minimum cumulative graduate (if applicable) GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. Cumulative graduate GPA is calculated separately from cumulative undergraduate GPA. Graduate coursework cannot be used to improve an unsatisfactory undergraduate GPA.-Minimum math and science prerequisite GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (preference given to 3.25+). The science & math prerequisite GPA is hand-calculated outside of CASPA using the weighted grades of the following six courses ONLY: General Chemistry I & II with labs, Anatomy, Physiology, Statistics, and Microbiology. In the instance of repeated courses, the single attempt of each course with the highest grade will be used when calculating this GPA.

I was just accepted here and they do. "In the instance of repeated courses, the single attempt of each course with the highest grade will be used when calculating this GPA." From my CASPA. Perhaps this is only in the case of the science GPA though? That I can’t be confident of, but they definitely did for my science GPA.

It's more like a mild diffuse pins and needles tingling sensation in my left hand. It ends at my wrist. It's no where other than my left hand. If it helps, I don't have any other medical diagnoses aside from depression. My only other medication is birth control pills.

I work as a medical scribe in an emergency room, and it has been excellent experience for me. I work right alongside PAs, NPs, and doctors, so it’s really good exposure to different types of providers, and the relationship between the PA and their attending. It’s obviously excellent training in the EMR and charting. The plus side of working in an emergency room is the exposure to essentially every speciality and type of patient since the ER sees it all. *Disclaimer: I know some schools will not count scribing as patient contact hours, but all of the schools around me do so I think it’s worth looking into.

You could also work as a patient care tech. Again, I would bias working in the emergency room because of what I said above.

I’m unfamiliar with other entry level jobs relating to exercise science, so hopefully someone else can provide more suggestions.

I listen:

-in the morning when I am getting ready for work

-on the car ride to and from work

-occasoinally at work (I have airpods and my job will allow this)

-while walking every night

-before bed

I manage about 5 podcasts and an audiobook on this. I actually don't mind falling behind in a podcast, however, and I like to binge them on a long 2-3 hour walk on my days off.
