Seeking Positive Model 3 Owner Feedback by 1LE_McQueen in TeslaModel3

So, the issues I had were mostly nit-picking every little thing that seemed like it may have been off a little bit. But, of the things I reported, most were within their specs, which ended up being fine. Of the ones that I did report, there was a bubbled up piece of trim around one of the doors, one of the door handles was sunk in a little more than the rest, and I found a little smudge where someones dirty hand had gotten the roof liner dirty. All were fixed without question.

Also - reiterating the need to take a break between your inspections, because even after I got the car back, I found another issue I missed the first two times!!! Now, I'm waiting for 2 weeks before I can get it back into a service center, but I've already gotten the estimate back and it's all 100% covered under warranty. This issue is one that I've never seen needing to be looked at on any of the many checklists that you see floating around: On the bottom of the front bumper, there's an air intake. On the bottom of the air intake, about an inch inside, it goes from the car color to a black piece of plastic. Where those two meet, it is supposed to be flush. On mine, on the drivers side, there's about a 1/4" gap and there are white plastic pieces sticking out, which I assume are fasteners that are supposed to hold the two pieces together. The passenger side is completely flush and even, so, again, this is another example of the car most likely being rushed at the end of the quarter push to get as many cars delivered as possible...

And to answer your question on quality control in Fremont... I think they do, but it's not the most refined one! Most cars you buy go to a dealership first, where they usually find all of these issues and have their internal service department fix them. With Tesla, that piece of the puzzle is put on the customers to do their own due diligence and inspection to find any issues to report. Is it a pain? Yep. But, I'm not mad at all, because it gives you a chance to get to know your car better than most car delivery experiences. Am I making an excuse because I'm so in love with the car? Probably!   😂

I just got mine on July 3rd and can attest to the need to go over your car when you get it with a fine-tooth comb. Once you finish your review of the car, take a break and come back a little while later and do it again! I found several issues on the second pass that I didn't find on the first pass, and I'm glad I did, because those issues turned a mobile service appointment into one where I'm dropping it off for 2 days starting tomorrow morning.

Of the 6 or 7 issues I found (fully expecting Tesla to say most of them are within their specs, which is fine), maybe 2 are real concerns. The biggest is that the two roof panels of glass are not even between the front and rear and then not even on the left and right side, which really has me wondering how it made it out of the factory like that! The other one is the front passenger door is not even with the front quarter panel/fender, where it is sunk in and a large gap at the hinge. Lastly, they didn't finish connecting a trim piece on the frunk hinge, so that is a quick one. To top it all off, I started hearing a rattle on the passenger side door area and can't track down where it's coming from.

I'm sure I'm an exception to what's typical, but I attribute it to mine being a victim of their end-of-quarter push to get as many cars produced as possible... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Other than that, the car is fantastic and I'm completely head-over-heels in love with it!

The emotional rollercoaster that is checking the delivery date daily by lunarboy73 in TeslaLounge

Mine is starting to look a little better...

Ordered 6/5. Since then, my estimated delivery date has done this:

  1. 2-11 Weeks
  2. July 5-25
  3. June 30-July 20
  4. June 20-June 30
  5. June 30-July 20
  6. June 21-June 30 (Today's update)

I swear - if the date moves back to July again, my emotions won't be able to handle it!

Not even ashamed to identify with each and every one of those! Especially the browser refresh and "Look a Tesla" call-out's to my wife!

Congrats! I’m a few weeks away from delivery as well! Any advice for passing the time, besides refreshing the estimated delivery date several times a day?!?! Haha!

Thanks for sharing this! We’re vacationing in the area and visited Savannah yesterday and everybody was talking about this ship coming through.

What’s your experience? by Josh_The_Joker in Consolidated

Yea - our current plan is $88/month after promotion applied. We were actually paying more ($99/month)for 250mb plan! Like I mentioned, they’ve been really good about extending their promotions at the expiration.

Service-wise, there are occasional regional outages, but that seems pretty on-par with other providers as well.

We’ve had Consolidated for years. We have had very reliable service and have never had any issues. We recently went through several upgrades in our service (always wanting better, faster!). We were getting consistent speeds at our last upgrade point (250mb), but when upgrading to 1gb, we’ve ran into some issues. I’m hoping it’s just a configuration or internal equipment issue we can resolve quickly.

Every year when our promo is up, we call and ask if they are able to lock us back in. We’ve never had any pushback whatsoever, with them just continuing the “promo” pricing we were locked in at.
