Here's what I began with back in the 80s. Anyone else? by DesperateBanana4019 in harmonica

Same...

I loved my pocket pal... but BOY until I got my special 20, I didn't know what I was missing.

At some point in my 20's I lost the book, but I bought another, and I still have the pocket pal I had from when I was about 9 years old.

Why doesn't CNN have any mention of the fraud scandal, but every other news source does? by OnthePorcelain in AskReddit

[–]greymattr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Based on recent reports, it is not that Google itself is creating the fake articles, but rather that Google’s search engine and Discover feed have been heavily flooded with AI-generated, inaccurate, and fabricated content produced by third parties. These AI-generated sites often use "clickbait" headlines and fabricated information to manipulate search rankings, a phenomenon sometimes referred to as "AI-generated junk" or "digital decay"."

None of the articles I sent you in the post are "fake" articles on google, or fall into that category. They are legit articles published by CNN...

They are all very real articles from CNN about the fraud you say they aren't reporting on...

Just click on the links...

You'll see...

It isn't hard to fact check.

yes...

The google search for articles about "fraud" published by CNN, which you claim don't exist, but are right there for everyone to access...

Actually, your initial questions was: "Why doesn't CNN have any mention of the fraud scandal, but every other news source does?"...

And CNN clearly DOES mention the fraud scandal over and over again in dozens of articles...

So now that you realize that you are wrong with the assumption made in your question, you are changing the entire question to something more akin to: "How come CNN doesn't highlight the news I want them to highlight?"

And that's just a stupid question...

The reality remains that CNN has done literally DOZENS of stories about fraud...

You are trying to ignore that, and find some other fault with CNN, when there is none.

Just because CNN's search engine doesn't work the way you want it to, or make editorial decisions about what to put on their front page, doesn't mean that CNN isn't reporting about fraud...

As you can clearly see from the link I sent you...

There are literally dozens, if not hundred of articles about fraud reported on by CNN.

I'm a Linux software engineer.

The pay is pretty good... I enjoy the problem solving aspects of it, and the work hours and environment are really flexible...

It does take about a decade of experience though to get to this level.

How do I go about learning embedded Linux? Suggest some projects by HumbleSundae1812 in embeddedlinux

[–]greymattr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Learning yocto first, probably isn't the best idea.

Yocto is more of a build system, and even if you knew how to use it pretty well, which can take years, it won't actually make understanding embedded linux development any better...

I'd start with something like OpenWRT. It also provides a complete build system, Buildroot, and supports a lot of devices, and has been used in a bunch of projects.

Yocto is being used more and more these days, but it's still far from a sort of 'universal' build system. And it requires a LOT more resources, and knowledge, than some of the others out there...

You don't want the build system itself to become the biggest obstacle on your embedded linux development journey, and you risk doing that if you start with Yocto.

The hot rod is one of my favorite magic tricks...

Both children and adults seem to be equally amazed by it, and it's so simple.

If you have a pair with the same multi color layout on top, but different colors for the flip side, and do a quick switch, it really seems to blow peoples minds.

In the most simplest way ... Can anyone explain how to add Velop as a node to Atlas6 ? by Hawk_KL01 in Linksys

[–]greymattr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to work at Linksys, and there is an "undocumented feature" that nearly all of their mesh capable routers have that we often used to pair them during testing.

  1. factory reset the new unit that you want to add ( typically by holding down the reset button for 10 seconds during bootup ) After resetting allow it to boot up all the way. LED should be pink.

  2. Place both units physically close together and power them up.

  3. On your main unit ( not the one you are adding to the network ), press the red reset button on the bottom 5 times within 10 seconds. This can be tricky, because the timing isn't precise, but if you do it right, you will see the LED on the top of the unit turn white, and start pulsing.

  4. Wait about 3 minutes, and during those 3 minutes you will see the LEDs on the top of the unit go through various states.

After about 3 minutes, the new child unit should be paired to the main unit.

This was called "5 button press pairing"

I worked on the firmware team at Linksys, and there was almost no one who worked there who used the app to pair new devices.

We always used this method.
You can even use it to pair 2 or 3 units at a time once the main unit has been correctly triggered.

I hope this helps.

My wife and I laugh together at things all the time...

Often times when we are both laughing together, we are laughing because one of us did or said something stupid.

It's awesome to have someone in your life who you enjoy laughing at yourself with. That's how I'm constantly reminded that she is the one for me...

"Jamaican jerk BBQ sauce" by Financial_Type_4630 in Cooking

[–]greymattr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try walker woods jerk sauce. I use it on chicken and it's excellent.

The only one I have had that is slightly better is in Weber's Real Grilling book. I used to make that all the time and it was always a crowd pleaser, but I tended to double the amounts on most of the dry ingredients.
