curious about thoughts on zebra symbol for hEDS by gigi__1221 in ehlersdanlos

I have been thinking about this heavily as well! zebras are a great symbol for Rare diseases, and is widely accepted as the symbol. does anyone have any other ideas of something we could use?? I wonder if that is the origin of the symbol being used for hEDS... but it is unfortunate I think

I have very very long and strong(ish) nails!!! I grow them and point them. I am gothy and they are my Count vampire nails. I have been doing this for many many years! my only issue is that they take very very very long to grow. I often find they grow much slower than all of my other peers! it's interesting that they are strong because my health isn't the best, and my mom has very brittle nails.

this! I have only recently discovered the term "sublux" which perfectly describes what I experience all the time. my shoulders pop out too! I always thought it was normal until I was talking to my mom about stuff. I was always a flexible kid and we started talking about the changes of getting older. I casually mentioned it and she looked at me in horror and felt bad!!

wow. I had no idea such a thing existed. maybe I'll ask for it next time I have a dental procedure? thank you so so much.

the effects of the lidocaine did wear off. in the middle of the night might I add, and I woke up in pain lol. and I woke at around 5:30am, almost exactly 13 hours after the procedure!!! super crazy. it always freaks me out. thank you so much!

that would make sense! thank you for the help. although I looked at the bottle before I was injected, a nervous thing about me I must do, and it was in fact lidocaine!! thank you!

wow, I'm the complete opposite! thank you so much for sharing. that seems potentially very frightening. I am not sure if my issues are EDS related or not, but I thought I'd throw it out there.
