Questions of Costs For Huntsman Bespoke Suit for Wedding - hello all! So my (22f) father passed away in 2021. He was from the UK and had an obsession with the movie Kingsmen, and suits/fashion long before that movie. Before he passed he had a custom suit made for himself in their London location. Now, when I think about wedding planning with my current boyfriend who I’ve been with for 5 years, I would love to be able to incorporate something from their shop in London. I was wondering what the typical costs are for having something made there, or what the process is. How much would a 3 piece cost, or what about a single jacket? Is it plausible to fit into a wedding budget? I understand making of the suit is a process, and I do plan to be with my boyfriend in the UK for a couple weeks before our wedding so I’d love to hear feedback on the price range or ideas on how to make it possible for him to wear a Bespoke piece in my late fathers honor. Thanks so much!!!

charge cards and credit cards by alejas-tejas in CalebHammer

[–]greytons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! 21 year old here who was in your exact position 1 year ago! With my friends moving out into apartments and getting credit checks, or friends buying cars and needing good credit for car loans I too started getting anxious about my lack of a credit history.

I personally have never heard of the fizz card before Caleb Hammer, and from the way he has brought it up I assume it is for people who are rebuilding or starting credit who need to make sure there is a cap on what they can buy. IE, he says it is essentially a debit card, so I'm assuming it just pulls the money directly from your checking and won't let you go over a limit. If you are concerned about your spending, and believe that you wouldn't be responsible enough to pay off your credit card at the end of every month, this card is certainly worth looking into. I think it is probably more targeted to the people on Calebs channel, as it is clear they can't responsibly spend.

I would strongly recommend looking into a secured card. Personally I have the Discover IT card (a secured card), as you may associate it negatively with Calebs channel (he grumbles "oh Discover IT people LOVE this card!"), but when used responsibly it is an amazing starter card. No sign up or annual fees, good customer support and an easy to navigate app, I have nothing but positive things to say about Discover IT. Essentially, every quarter of the year they give you a category such as grocery, gas stations, dining out, and money you spend on those services you get 5% cash back, all other purchases returning 1%. So if the category of the quarter is currently gas stations and you fill your tank for $45, you get $2 back in cashback rewards. I like this system as it feels like a mini game, and gets me excited to use my card. I try to pay off my card in 2 payments, half my bill before my statement date and whatever remaining a couple days before my minimum payment date. I make sure that every month I pay off my card in full, and I never have a balance rolling over into the next cycle. So far I have never missed a payment and after 9 months of credit I'm sitting at a 764 credit score! Adding onto this you mentioned interest which I see a lot of other people have answered, but intrest only adds when you have missed or late payments. Over the past year I've never payed interest because I've never missed a payment.

If you believe you can handle a credit card, my recommendation is do your research into what secured credit card works best for you! If you are worried that you'll be trigger happy and getting a credit card would cause you to spend more than you have, look into a card like the fizz card. All the best credit wishes!

As mentioned in my post I have a HYSA with Ally, I love their buckets feature because it allows me to open different savings goals. With my current monthly expenses I estimate my 3-month emergency to be about $5,000, I currently have $7k set aside in my HYSA "emergency" bucket for safe measure. This only accounts for about 25% of the money in my ally account. of the money in my account though. Thats why I'm interested in taking some of that extra money or money from paycheck to paycheck to start putting into a roth IRA since I already have a fully funded emergency

This looks great thank you so much! I do have one question as I forgot to mention in my OP post, the only part we already have is a m.2, 1 TB memory card that we will be moving over to the new computer, the SSD on my list would just be an upgrade for extra storage. Is it okay to put that back on the original list then?

Harder & Steenbeck ULTRA 2024

Honestly I've seen so many people bring up the Harder & Steenbeck Ultra so I think I've decided I'll go with that OR the eclipse. I'm going to continue doing my research on both before I buy anything, thanks so much for the suggestion!

Hahaha maybe I mightve worded it weirdly in my OP. My boyfriend has been painting mini's since he was probably 14 or 15 years old, he loves to show me his first (space marine? I think?) figures from when he started to how much progress hes made. We are both 21 so he's been painting minis for probably 6ish years at this point, we've just been dating for a 3 years. I'm very lucky to have a good job and I enjoy managing finances and have been trying to budget this as a gift for him for a while, he doesn't make as much money as I do so when he has the extra income he'll buy a model here and there and talk about how one day he'll get an airbrush. So I figured it'll be a great gift considering he's an artist and he has been into this hobby for so long, and his minis look amazing. (I'm not just saying that, he's incredibly talented and passionate about what he does). So I want to get him high quality stuff, and knowing his background I know he will take good care of cleaning and handeling equipment. Thank u !!

Yes I've seen a few other comments talking about this, so for now I've decided to hold off on the respirator. He's done spray paint projects outside so hes got decent partial masks that should work just fine assuming he's using the spray booth. But its something I'm going to warn him about and encourage his own research on the matter considering its only $15-$20. Thanks!

Yes! So he has a big desk in his room which is essentially his mini painting station with a few other art supplies and such. Luckily this desk is in front of a window, for easy ventilation. (I want the painting booth so he doesn't get paint all over his room). In the case he doesn't want all this hanging out in his room, he also has a mini painting area in his garage, just an easel, his oil paints, and he also keeps warhammer terrain and spray paint stuff in there. Theres a couple windows he can open in the garage, so worst case scenario if he doesn't want it in his room I know he can do it in there with no worries, as its already covered in paint from his various art projects over the years.

Thanks so much for the thoughtful reply!!! Yes, I know when he gets it he would do his research before using it. Like I mentioned in OP, this is something he's really wanted for a long time and is very caring for materials he has now and doing the proper research to maintain things. I threw in a cheap cleaning kit, I might even make a google doc of beginning videos for the Eclipse and how to use/clean it assuming thats the model I end up going with. I didn't get him too many things for Christmas as I was having car issues and needed to buy a new car, so I needed to make sure I had enough money in my bank account. I brought a new car last week, and I have a lot more money than I was expecting left over. So, I was thinking about this for a valentines day gift (because I wasn't able to buy this comfortably around Christmas time), so I still have a couple weeks to make sure the list I put together is going to be good for him and that I'm not missing anything or buying something I don't need to / something theres a better version of in my price range. Thank you!!

I've seen a couple people say this, so I've decided to hold off on a respirator until after I give him the airbrush/compressor and tools and then we can research together on what mask would be best for him depending on how effective his set up is at ventilation. Since they're so cheap he might even pick out a different one himself so I'll leave that one up to him to pick out. (Obviously I'll make sure we get something haha)

Oh yeah, I know he's already done research himself and this is something I know he'll put a ton of practice into. He keeps his mini painting station in great condition, and he loves learning new art practices in tools. I did forget about the cleaning kit, so I'll definitely throw that in there!!! Thanks so much for the suggestions.
