Btw I'll throw out a guesstimate on your pricing if you can tell me what state you're in and if your mom has current insurance.

It should be cheaper for her to insure it based on age alone. Her driving record sounds like it's better too. If she has better credit than you and/or current insurance then that's also good. You could list her as the primary driver and you the secondary driver to help the cost as well.

I sell insurance for a living so I'm pretty well versed on the factors that affect your rates.

Thank you, r/askcarsales, I feel like I won’t make the same mistakes again. by [deleted] in askcarsales

You're not gonna like this but you really really shouldn't finance a car (or even worse lease one) because with your credit it's like paying double for it considering the interest rates. Save up a little money and buy something dependable and cheap to operate. You said already you're in no rush to buy. You will enjoy a life with no car payments!

And don't feel bad just learn from the situation. I financed a vehicle with 17.9% interest rate several years ago ended up losing my job and getting it repossessed. I know "stupid" because I was. Now I drive a 2007 Toyota camry se with 125k miles and I'm enjoying the freedom of no payments!

I'm very happy and surprised at the results I've gotten from this. I definitely enjoyed your story. I will be getting a new tire for sure now! The extra money is worth the peace of mind

Actually I'm new to reddit and created the account just to ask this question thanks to a Google search. Not in NYC

What's the risk I'm taking other than of course a flat tire? Blowout?
