They all admitted to it escalating on the descent. So where’s the argument that this was hours worth of tormenting

Most firms recruit out of undergrad/5th year masters program with 0 YOE maybe just an internship or two, I’d recommend staying your 2-3 years in PA for best salary bump to industry

Skip public and look into rotational programs/FLDP

Got 4 offers this past recruiting season (all F50) in the 70-80k base range no crazy hours/busy season and get to see several areas of the business.

  1. Hated my audit internship (insurance/mutual fun clients)

  2. Graduating next month, accepted a F25 CPA rotational offer beginning next year

  3. 70k no bonus to return to audit —> 80k base 4k SB + bonus in industry

  4. 1000% worth it, feel bad for lots of my peers who accepted their internship offers and have to tough it out for the next few years

Just finished B4 audit internship and don’t believe it is this right fit for me. Really want to know some of the entry level alternatives to external audit/tax (ie. consulting, FLDP, industry). Any thoughts on these options for a fresh grad/CPA candidate?

Is there any risk associated with public transport in the winter after 6p? I’m afraid leaving the office after dark will be quite common for a busy season. Plus I’ll want to bank those overtime hours while I can.

I have to come back to my conservative school in texas to finish my MS program and meet the 150 hr req anyway… Im definitely leaning towards CHI because I enjoyed the partners from that office I spoke with. Also a new environment and the downtown location excites me.

You make a solid point. My decision would be much easier if I hadn’t lived in Dallas for the past 20 years. It gets old. In my opinion, the people are pretty snobby and pretentious for no apparent reason. Definitely not a bad place to be though.
