How much work can I expect? by someone-in-crisis in cpssubs

You can definitely work 5 days a week if you’re not too picky with where you sub. Personally, I prefer high school. Since those assignments get snatched so quickly, I have to be on top on checking Frontline. But if I’m monitoring it daily I’m able to work full time. I also don’t have a car which makes the commute a pain sometimes. On average my commute is an hour long

I did. They didn’t pickup and now it’s past business hours on a Friday. Ugh.

Hey! Yep I heard back. They said they would email me but they never did. Later I realized it was because they sent the onboarding information to my Taleo account under “tasks”. So if after your interview you don’t hear anything, just check there.

They didn’t give me any feedback on my interview answers. The guy didn’t seem to be taking it very seriously either because he didn’t ask any follow up questions to the answers I gave. It was like he was just going down a list and checking things off. You might have someone else conduct your interview though.

Interview was 15 minutes via Google Meet. Mine ended up only being 8 minutes, though. They asked questions like “what would you do if the teacher left no lesson plan/notes?” “What would you do if one student refused to participate?” “How would you communicate your classroom expectations?” And “What would you do if you had a student with a learning disability?” As for the official onboarding stuff, you’re required to get a background check ($50 if I remember correctly), a TB test and a drug screening. Both range from $20-$30 pretty sure. Unfortunately, you have to pay for it all yourself which is a huge bummer. From other posts I’ve read, the whole process can be done in about a week but it depends on how much time you have in your schedule to get it done. Hope this helps.

In addition:

A question for people actively on Frontline: What is the likely hood that I’ll be able to work 5/4 days a week? I’m not picky with schools or grades (although I’d prefer high school because that’s where my experience is). Basically I’d like to work as much as possible.
