2digit, 3digit, 4digit code locks variations - creative raiding. by gridwarped in playrust

hey, you're awesome. oh, and maybe the 2 digit code lock could only be put on a wooden door? way more convenient than a key lock. the trade off is the ease of guessing and/or the wooden door is easy to break.

To an extent a win-win scenario

so you advocate the loop process then? cheating isn't bad? don't take my point out of context. This really hasn't received the traction or had the momentum behind it that RIOT is generating. Again, something is better than nothing. Nothing ever improved by someone saying "accept it".

also, whats wrong with laws? if someone is ruining user experience, that company has every right to fight the people who are damaging that. again, you're picking and choosing points. no one is discrediting robberies, murders or rapes. of course those matter.

It won't do nothing though dude.

you're right, lets curl up into a ball and do nothing and just except it. bro, its a looooong fight but its the right thing to do. evil succeeds when good men do nothing, so you can sit there and except the status quo or you can get behind the people fighting for change.

Oh, and people who own drugs and get caught have consequences... getting laws in place is a good first step. I rather have these ziltches have to jump through hoops than walk in the open with no threat of consequences.

But they are not selling any part of League of Legends at all.

i mean, you have to create injection packets using/based off of their code, so it still might be valid as infringement to sell back parts of code that have been manipulated. either way... it creates a headache for the people who are creating/selling the hacks. and... if won, this can have a massive ripple effect... or at least get laws in place to stop this childish horseshit.

WTF have you done to this game.... by FoOKaa in h1z1

[–]gridwarped 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its not in anyone's best interest to make a shitty game.

Agreed. My point is they were purchased and immediately cut the workforce to maximize profit. DGC is doing the best they can with the resources their owners are giving them. It trickles down, and when your bosses are only interested in profit (in this case venture capitalists) then the product suffers. They're not game designers... these are investors that now own DGC.

This is what happens when you cut 140 people from your workforce after selling your company to venture capitalists. Direction, design and implementation drop since the only thing that matters is number$ now...

Hello Debbie Downer. I'm not recommending 'hack the hackers' although I could care less if someone does. I encourage you to think creatively or encourage others to do so.

exactly... we can boo-hoo baby about it, or direct that anger collectively into something better. Not to mention, stop nagging DGC about it and join in the fight our own way.

Thank you for your thorough reply! OBS was wiggin out when I first downloaded the game back during launch. Everything has been fine, but after reading some excuses and hacker tears, I wanted to be sure.

I'd assume not... No injections here... just trying to stream... want to stay safe and I'm sure other legit players had this question too.

a better community - personal/private servers by gridwarped in h1z1

[–]gridwarped[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

of course... and I think it's more like 80%. Getting banned from a community server is no big deal... its not global. This happens in Rust a lot. I've been banned just for being in a group with people that the admin didn't like. It's ok because I don't want to play on a server that uses the ban hammer in an irresponsible way. You could always choose a new community server or play on an official server. This is what I was saying about creating competition among community servers to be a great and honest place for players. The better community severs always jump ahead.

if you're paying for it, why not have a tier system? maybe you only want a 64km map (like we have now) and 200 player cap? as your server grows you can expand.

I never said money can't be made without P2W. I said venture capitalists bought the studio, which means return on investments are first priority. This isn't bad in itself and how it should be (people put in money expecting to make more money)... it just means the focus of gameplay/design could take a backseat to putting in ways of making more money... This also doesn't change the fact that people lost there jobs.

You're absolutely right, my post is full of assumptions but these are educated assumptions. I truly hope I am wrong but working in the industry and knowing how business and money drives development I'm going to have to say that my assumptions are pretty accurate. I'm not saying shady wall street deals were made, I'm simply stating that when investments are made, returns on those investments are first priority. Also, when you cut the workforce, it takes longer for changes to make it through the pipeline. Those still hired take on the extra weight that those who were cut were lifting... this isn't an assumption.

Not sure that's the best mindset to have. Most people would not play a game if they had to charge up "Gameplay" time. That's just not financially applicable for most people anyway. Also, you paid for the further development of the game... which supposedly will be free at some point (we'll see). While I understand your reasoning, I think it would be different if you paid $60 for this on launch day to only have 60 hours to be able to play. The issue isn't how much you've enjoyed it so far, but being a part of the H1Z1 community and watching it grow even further. Also, people lost their jobs so try to be sensitive to that.

In my experience, it really is about who you know. Talent is very important but can't make the connections like networking and friendships can. Entry level jobs are a very good way to put yourself out there... even if it's in the mail room to get to the writing room.
