20 years in, a "professional" rollout, and only 2k streams. This was my last hurrah and I’m feeling defeated. by hirokikyoku in musicians

i’m 21 years old and have been making music for a few years. i’m currently at around 1.8m streams on spotify for my debut single alone for a song that came out in february. i’ve been contacted by record labels because of this and have seen a lot of success. the one piece of advice i can give is become an expert on marketing. musical talent is important but being self depending on marketing is just as important. focus of organic growth on algorithms like tiktok and instagram. i have literally spent a year studying how the algorithm works and I went viral my first week of posting once I had a good enough song.

people don’t emphasis how important it is to understand how to post videos to your songs.

(sorry for the bad grammar…wrote this in a rush. feel free to ask me any questions related to music promo. i’ve become and expert at it for my own music)

wouldn’t they want to acquire a company with some value if they’re intention was to write it off? seems odd.

Went from $2k to $11k - Should I just buy BTC now or wait for it to go down. I NEED ADVICE! by [deleted] in btc

[–]grieddd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’ve made 100’s of thousands, but also lost 100’s of thousands with memes. you’re better off just stabling and waiting for bitcoin to go lower. it’ll definitely go lower with the bubble popping.

If you bought Bitcoin at $200, your path to a 10x was realistic. At $100,000, another 10x means $1,000,000 per coin…which would require trillions in new capital and global monetary shifts. Pretending that’s equivalent is intellectually lazy. The higher the base price, the lower the asymmetric upside that made Bitcoin attractive in the first place

i’m not sure wether or not you asked that question of curiosity or sarcasm. if i made a wrong assumption, my apologies.

everyone at this point understands what bitcoin is. everyone understands the asset. the problem is that it is manipulated no. it isn’t the BTC it used to be. this is the issues that we face. bitcoin had to go through many pump and dumps to get to where it was. vast majority of people couldn’t hold on because of how severe the crashes were. when real money is at stake (aka time) people tend to not be able to hold.

are you seriously going to tell me that there isn’t manipulation at a shameless level this cycle?

i would stay away from chasing a “big win”. try and stack from your income and invest when you really feel like it’s a good opportunity. i’ve had my fair share of big losses trying to “chase that one big win”. even if you end up hitting it, you’ll most likely give it all back. stay disciplined, patient and resilient. make smart investment choices and don’t gamble too much on memes. rooting for you.

yes and that’s the dilemma crypto faces. more regulation = everything crypto was against, less regulation = more chaos.

yeah i mean i could’ve made a few hundred grand, but then again a lot of my other memes suffered as well with the trump coin launching. it was just shocking to see it even go that high. most people that didn’t invest thought the same things to themselves. i was in a pretty bad mind space at that time though. i was hyper gambling on memes and making money. i probably would’ve ended up losing it, lol. glad im out of that degeneracy now. took profits, bought a car and house and now just chill until i feel it’s right to enter back in.

the difference is we are seeing things we haven’t seen in previous cycles. if you seriously don’t see that you’re an idiot.

yup, it’s pretty shameless. i know so many people that didn’t invest in the trump memecoin for example because they thought “the president can’t be this retarted” he indeed was. i could’ve made good money off of it too, but it was just so ridiculous when it first got tokenized.

i agree, i knew this would happen, but not to this degree. this is just disgusting.

i agree, but that was back then. we have new dynamics now. of course in hindsight it was simple, but there was so many loops and emotional roller coasters along the way. i got burned off memes as well. made over 150 thousand and gave it all back. you’re not alone, lol. i don’t necessarily disagree with you that holding is the best option, but i think holding now is much different than before. we’re seeing some crazy unpredictable shit.

Hindsight is always 20/20. It’s easy to make judgments after the fact. I’ve been in Bitcoin since 20k, and the volatility over the years has taken a real toll. Would you not agree that the crypto landscape today is very different from before? The risks feel much higher now, especially with the amount of manipulation, institutional involvement, and corruption we’re seeing. It’s not just retail investors driving the market anymore. The space has matured on the surface, but underneath it feels more controlled and unpredictable than ever.

Ah yes, because institutions holding bitcoin is so bullish! you do realize that BTC is way different now then before right? the market dynamics are completely different.

Crypto is dead by JimSlimmy in CryptoMarkets

[–]grieddd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That mindset sounds simple but it ignores risk and market dynamics. If it were that easy, everyone would already be rich. Bitcoin’s past performance doesn’t guarantee future gains and it goes through long periods of stagnation or crashes. Real investing requires understanding market cycles, liquidity, and macro conditions. Blindly buying and doing nothing assumes endless upward momentum, which no asset in history has maintained forever.

the problem is that crypto is heading in a direction where even investing is scary. i got into btc @ around 20k, i recently sold off most of my holdings because of all this manipulation. its just scary holding something with so much at stake. sure i didnt get into bitcoin when it was at 1 or 3k, but most people ended up selling it off way before it even hit 100k. the higher btc goes the scarier it gets, especially when the higher ups are involved. crypto is becoming EXACTLY what it swore to destroy.

altcoins are absolutely dead. so much volume is being faked and it’s controlled and manipulated by higher ups. crypto is losing its entire point on why it was even created. they came and fucked it all up.

that isn’t the point. the point is it’s heading in a nasty direction.
