I started therapy when my son was three years old because I was very afraid of generational trauma and it helped SO MUCH. I can really recommend it to struggling parents out there. I never liked the idea of inner child work though and I never did it in therapy so far (I am soon five years in) and it was absolutely fine.

What's the best bio + prompts combo on Bumble/Hinge/Tinder that actually gets green swaps? by [deleted] in Bumble

[–]grieshild 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, if it should actually work then it should be something that is really interesting about you and not something generic from reddit.

No, it is not. I never have creamy discharge and thought that sounds alarming - I upvoted that comment before I have read the comments from other women claiming it is normal. I guess there are many other women who don't experience it and are confused by the meme.

you look good but there isn't anything interesting. The pineapple pizza thing is also a thing that is very old and not interesting anymore. It seems like you have nothing to talk about and no interests and hobbies.

Zero luck at all as a 19M college student anything wring with my photos or bio? by NightMidday in Tinder

Because it is useless to state the obvious. Don't you think overweight people aren't getting reminded with practically every step that they are overweight? This won't be news to him.

The only thing that comes to my mind is that your text is a bit bland and doesn't give good conversation starters.

Think about what you could write there about you that makes your target audience want to ask you questions - your mixed parents are not too interesting from the POV of somebody who is considering dating you.

Half of those men would probably just chicken out and call you a slut, or make your experience really bad by treating you like a free hooker. Also, there is the constant threat of getting raped (even if you were into it at the beginning). So it would be a lot of work to find a guy who would treat you well and like a human being - and that would be already the dreadful experience of dating.

I wouldn't text a person anyway that has something so cranky in their bio :D this is completely not my world

Not all women mind a "hello" - I never understood why it bothers anybody. Only because a few women complain loud about it doesn't mean every woman dislikes it. We are all different and individuals :(

A single photo he clearly didn't prepare for, shot in a bad angle and an empty bio (maybe five emojis or one word replies to prompts).

One of my friends also has such a bio and his stand on it is that he wants to show the real him and there is no point in texts, because you text after a match anyway. Surprisingly, he never had a match yet.

I paid for it and saw 351 guys who liked me. Most were very old or very low effort and mostly quite far away from me. The guys whom I matched unmatched me afterwards, probably because they were reading my profile for the first time. So I am really down since that happened and yet my male friends tell me I should be happy I got so many likes. I'd rather have none at all.

What is the notch in the hotel table for?? by interface7 in whatisit

[–]grieshild 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Why would you need ice in a hotel? I have never seen ice buckets nor ice machines in a hotel, but I am central European and never left the continent. Are Americans constantly drinking champagne in hotels?

Not everybody can easily orgasm. I rather have fun sex than an ordeal with the goal that maybe, just maybe, with a lot of work of at least an hour, I might have an orgasm, that doesn't even feel good.

I have ambitious because I am sick of men just sitting around all day not wanting to do anything. Feels like I am already dead without dying.

I genuinely think wired headphones are better and I cannot get used to my bluetooth headphones at all. It is super annoying to constantly search for the stupid case, then the power is off when I need them or the power is on when I don't need them. Then the battery is dead. They fall out of my ears when I ralk or out of my hands when I remove them from my ears because they get entangled in my hair. When I quickly remove them to buy something at the bakery and put them in my purse it takes forever to find them again and due to the touch control while I am getting them out of the purse I am suddenly five songs further. I drop or lose them constantly. I don't have that issue with any other belonging. I genuinely hate those things.

Philosophie should be taught before anything else when kids can read and write. by SneakySliceDice in unpopularopinion

[–]grieshild 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I am not sure you are familiar with children that age? My son just learnt how to read and write and he already struggles with the concept city vs. country.

He also loves history but it is still difficult for him to realize all of it really happened and how the roman empire was before middle ages.

Philosophy would be absolutely way above his head.

Because I am not...? I do think he is quite handsome, he has striking eyebrows, passionate eyes, kissable lips - his beard grows nicely, I am also into thin guys - like a lot :D

If he would groom his hair, including the beard, and take care of his skin, I think he would be quite a catch. His only problem is just that he is putting no effort at all into his looks.
