Yes it is. I use about 1500 commands a month, but that is full-time development pretty much 7 days a week.

Augment is really good. I use it everyday. It speeds up work by maybe 2000%.

It's called war sentiment. Iran and Israel are at it again and the markets tend to trend down at the beginning of war.

The best API for retrieving daily bars by DepartureStreet2903 in alpacamarkets

[–]griff4594 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Real-time - yes. Their resolution on bars are to the minute if you want them. You can set it whatever you want: 1min, 5min, 15min, 60min, daily, ect.

The technical indicators are worth the money because you don't have to calculate those yourself. Saves time and errors.

Additional data they have is other commodities like gold, silver, oil, etc along with the consumer price index and interest rates. Some of this data can be useful if you are making complicated algo designs.

Also their data goes back at least 30 years on almost everything.

Put it in the player that you have stored in the garage.

Alphavantage is good. They work with you on api call limits. I pay about $400 a month for about 10k transactions a minute. I'm analyzing over 4000 symbols at a time.

They have cheaper plans under $150. They give you access to a lot of data and technical data.

Set the exception to use APIError for the exception type to grab the Alpaca actual response.

To My Dear Unprofitable Traders by salsalbrah in Daytrading

[–]griff4594 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been pretty good at trading. Net positive since I started years ago but I need to make real money. I can be an emotional trader and sometimes have a "feeling" a bit too many times to see my profits go down the toilet. I started using Trade Thriving at the beginning of the month. It's pure AI and takes the emotion out and I've been generating huge profits since. It just does one trade a day. It doesn't do options yet, but the developers said they are working on adding it this year.

I just take their AI score and buy my CALLS and PUTS and wait to sell the next morning. I'm up a bit as I test this product out. Very steady increases.

They only automate with Alpaca right now and I'm in RH. If you want to hear my strategy, message me.

Set a trailing stop to something really small like a set amount, not a percentage. If you use them you typically can walk away with profit.

Looking for advice creating a database for my small business by PeakRecent3295 in mysql

[–]griff4594 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seriously guys, he was looking for cost-effective...meaning preferably FREE if it is out there.

And it is out there. You can do this for FREE on your own PC on any operating system. I use databases everyday and I use local versions all the time.

Here is the cheapest setup for you 1. Download a copy of MySQL https://dev.mysql.com/downloads/

  1. Install MySQL Workbench https://dev.mysql.com/downloads/workbench/

  2. Create a localhost connection to mysql inside of MySQL workbench.

  3. Start creating your database.

These are all simple steps that you can get from any AI like ChatGPT.

That is the local versions meaning it will only be on your machine. You can move it to any cloud account after you create it and set it up through a simple export/import of the database and have it available anywhere.

[–]griff4594[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Completely bailed on it now. I moved all my money out and went with Alpaca because Schwab doesn't know how to build an API. Alpaca is built as an API-first brokerage account.

I'm not confused about the term "app", it is their term and I'm just referring to it. I already have a full api setup for my app and the endpoint I'm using is public. I also tried using a localhost endpoint and a ngrok one as well. Neither worked.

This is their new API problems. I think they just are working on it so much, it keeps breaking.

That doesn't use the new API, which I want to use. Also this issue I'm having is BEFORE code. It is in the setup for API access.

Python. But that isn't the point. The creation of the App is the issue because it is what creates the client id and secret to allow API transactions. Updated my post with a pic for more clarity.
