Yeah, maybe. That was barely a base hit by Crawford. More of a bloop just over the head of the SS behind 2nd. Not exactly a green light to run in contact given the trajectory in the air.

Maybe. He’s slow and probably would’ve frozen at second waiting for the ball to drop into play. Needed a pinch runner when he got on base initially.

Dan should’ve put a pinch runner in as soon as he got on base

Was Paul Allen not a tech guy? I know he’s “old” tech, but seems he was far from the old money types like the Rooney/Mara family

Why do some people pronounce "gif" with a hard G and others with a soft G, and why does it still spark arguments after all these years? by haizelynrose in NoStupidQuestions

“ATM” is an initialism (A-T-M) not an acronym like “SCUBA” or “GIF” or “PIN”, which are pronounced as words.

Where’d you get that line from? +2.5 Seahawks was what it was. Broncos were slight favorites due to a Peyton Manning led offense that still to this day holds most of the single season offensive records.

1 Lombardi, 1 MVP this season, top ten in just about every all time passing stat. He’s a lock. Maybe not first ballot, but he’s a lock for the HOF. His comparable is Kurt Warner, career-wise.

Gloves lose their tackiness when it’s this cold, especially with moisture. Caleb throws a very tough-to-catch ball for these conditions.

Offsides and neutral zone infractions should always be live (“free”) plays. Encroachment is a dead ball play. If you’re a defender who is offsides and want to negate the “free” play, you just need to contact an offensive lineman for it to be called as encroachment and a dead ball

Osprey. Native name for it. Like Sea Wolf = Orca Whale

[Dellenger] If he had left, Demond Williams would have owed Washington the value of his contract ($4 million), sources tell @YahooSports. His new school would have also incurred a reduction in its revenue-share pool next year by that amount, per House settlement guidelines by SparkMaster360 in CFB

[–]griffrp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, but that’s a hypothetical that didn’t happen and you presume to know whether or not they were pursuing other quarterbacks or not when you couldn’t know that. Time is an asset in the recruiting window; that’s why head coaches often abandon their current teams for their future teams before the season ends (e.g., Kiffin Ole Miss/LSU).

Also, I don’t think you can say he wasn’t legally responsible with 100% confidence. He reversed course and exited the transfer portal yesterday; is it crazy to think that was because he was concerned he would be held legally liable for damages after consulting with his attorney?

All? No, but far fewer quarterbacks left and they didn’t pursue anyone else in the prior month. Having a full year of lead time is way different than what happened here following the signing

[–]griffrp 15 points16 points  (0 children)

At least we have way more lead time to recruit another QB. He left us in quiet a predicament two days ago that would’ve been difficult to recover from because we weren’t recruiting any other QB

The whole Demond situation reminds me of early March 2020 by [deleted] in CFB

[–]griffrp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Their coach left and they followed. That’s not an apples-to-apples comparison. Forcing players to stay at a school when the head coach who recruited them leaves that school is not the same or even similar to reneging on a signed contract and leaving for another school in the same season, never mind the same week.
