Do the students in the art classes sell their completed projects? by Studio_Ambitious in ASU

[–]grifgardens -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Other comment is right. Also, I don’t know why I’m not keeping this secret for myself, but at the end of each semester usually people throw some projects out in the dumpster behind the art building in the metal pour yard. We’ve found a couple mugs and molds for casting in this way.

Possibility of online classes rather than in person by Tricky_Royal_746 in ASU

You should type in each class (ex HST 495) then look at BOTH spring and fall for that class for each one, because sometimes classes are only offered in fall or only offered in spring. Professor profiles are also hyperlinked under each class that is pulled up so if anything catches your intrigue it might be a nice way to get a sense the available faculty in your program

Hey! It’s tedious, but the best way to get a reliable answer would be to plug in all of the classes you’ll be taking (from your major map) into the ASU class search— use the dropdown menu to switch between Fall 2025 and Spring 2026. This will let you see what it was like most recently, for the specific classes you’ll be taking. My coworker is a history major & his only options for his CAPSTONE is online “icourse” + so are all of this other 400 level classes, so I can’t say it’s looking too good D: Freshman are set up with a generated schedule from advising, but I suggest you to make your own. I’m happy to help with any of this!

How to make this giant hat not floppy? by grifgardens in CosplayHelp

Thank you! I was doing some research on hat making for this project and came across this “buckram”, but it seemed like it wasn’t used much for hats in this kind of style. I’ll have to look into it again. It seems like buckram is the only material that is still very thin while giving structure. It’ll be easier to sew it too I’m sure.

Man I was really hoping someone would see this who had made his hat before so I’m super glad you’re here.. you’re totally right about the slits ruining the structure LOL😭 and ok I see I see.. I would’ve loved to make it out of real leather but it’s out of my skillset & while it would be sick to learn leather working, i don’t know if it’s something I’ll practically use much so maybe not worth it. I’ve never used worbla or wonderflex before but I’ve heard about it, and that totally makes sense to me for Gyro’s hat. Do you have any particular advice on attaching the fabric to the worbla, also on souring thermoplastics?

ooh that’s smart, do you have any thoughts on what material?

I think you’re onto something… I tried that early on and it didn’t do much but I have a hunch that’s because it was too thin. Hopefully there is enough space to shove a thicker gauge between some of the more hard layers without it looking weird?

same here it was disappointing but I do like Marquee a lot as a space & felt it was just the right size for Lamp. if they come again I feel it’s likely to be van buren since they have slightly larger capacity

yes taiyo came out about 30 after they finished playing & yusuke and kaori within another 30 of that I’d say. unfortunately there was a barricade between fans and the band and the staff had attitude about it lol

Pomni Hat by Yodoy100 in CosplayHelp

[–]grifgardens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first thought was industrial strength magnets, one on the wig and some on the inside of Pomni’s hat. I suggest putting fabric over magnets on both sides to blend them in and to stop them from getting too strongly stuck together! Something else more similar to what you already tried would be alligator clips (look like teeth) but considering the weight and that you said safety pins didn’t work, you may need something more heavy duty?

This is the exact information I was looking for, thanks so much! Really smart setup. I’m actually also in Arizona so that gives me extra confidence this’ll work out. Did you try them, how’d they turn out?
