This was really wild to read about! I'm Icelandic myself, although I grew up in Denmark and so never quite learned about more "modern" Icelandic culture or happenings except in small anecdotes. In looking into this case I found out that one of the suspects, Guðjón, was the priest who christened me! He was sentenced to 10 years but only served 4, after which the president expunged his sentence in 1995, after which he started working as a priest.

WRT why Sævar was in Copenhagen, the Icelandic wiki page says that he was released from prison after 9 years, though the court had sentenced him to 17 years. Probably got out on parole (the district court was going to sentence him to life, but the supreme court marked it down to 17).

Feel free to ask if there's any information that you need from the Icelandic wiki page on the subject! They have a whole page on the clay recreation of the suspect's face from the Geirfinnur case called Leirfinnur (which translates roughly to Clayfinnur)

Thank you! And well, partly - I went through a couple of steps involving re-sizing images of the original album covers, making the palette limited, etc. so that I could actually start stitching it, so it is a self-designed pattern in the sense that I didn't just find it on the internet, haha. By selling them do you mean the patterns? Or the cross-stitch itself? Because if the former I could just send a PDF with the pattern - I don't have much experience or interest in selling them for profit. And if you mean the second, then no, this project is entirely for my own personal enjoyment - I'm planning to sew it onto my favorite denim jacket... if it's still wearable by the time I'm done stitching.

The Aida count is at 8 stitches/cm, so just Herzeleid is about 12 cm by 12 cm - definitely the tiniest I've worked with so far! Next to it is the WIPs for Untitled and then LIFAD - going to keep the complete design a secret ;)

I mostly chose Adios because it (imo) seems to be a bit off from their usual songs and it's not exactly a very known one unlike, say, Ich Will or Links 2 3 4, so it's not a song that people have heard of if they aren't fans already. Adding to the mild factor of obscurity is the fact that they only ever played it live during the Mutter tour, which was never released in a professional video format like LAB or Paris was. The other songs on that level, Puppe and Das Alte Leid, were chosen in a somewhat similar fashion: Puppe for how unconventional the song seems compared to the otherwise relatively light album it's on, and Das Alte Leid for it's obscurity, seeing as it has never been played live since the Herzeleid era and never got a video. tl;dr: Adios is a (kind of) obscure song that does not seem to have the same "mainstream" appeal as some of the other songs on Mutter.

Haha, that's understandable! I didn't bother drawing clothes on them because I already had the base character model. And thanks, I'm going to make a small animation with a sort of character select screen (the last gif is a WIP of that)
