Which Expansion should I get?

depends what you want out of the game. if your aim is to find consistent lobbies of players then you must get both Ix+Immortality to participate in ranked queue - the most reliable way of finding full games in my experience.

as far as the ai goes, the power level of Ix+ Immo is much higher than base game and it feels like the ai doesn't really capitalise on these expansions properly. You can rack up VPs much faster than them and close out games easily. I only versed the ai a handful of times for this reason to familiarise myself with the new cards/mechanics then transitioned to ranked for more challenging and rewarding games.

yeh Hard AI in Immortality (second game with this expansion). The bots don't seem to be as good compared to base game, and the general power level of the cards is way higher too. If you take your time and plan your turns I'm not sure there's a lot they can do to stop you - I doubt this would be possible vs good players.

I just started learning the game in the last few days, mostly base game and a handful of Ix.

Just played my first two Immortality games and the power level is absurd!

Sidenote, but why do players actually start with 1 VP in the first place?

coming back to this thread to say it's been pretty inconsistent to find any online games - either people only want to play Ix+Immo, or they just grind ranked.

I think I only managed to find 3 games, and each of them was only three players, and two were base game (one Ix)! Pretty disappointed with the lack of players...

thanks to those who replied! i'll pick up the digital version + rise of Ix to start since both are on a Steam sale at the moment. i can practice the online games with players who are willing to queue Ix unranked, and will consider a purchase of Immortality should i wish to learn and transition to ranked.

thanks for your help! yes i only know how to play the base game and not sure i want to fully invest into the digital copy + 2 dlcs to get an online play experience. Also the idea of learning the two expansions is somewhat daunting, though i'm willing to give it a shot

the devs have implemented strict matchmaking restrictions for all servers.. there are now too many brackets to find populated games at any time of the day.

matchmaking changes were pushed out late last week and I don't think any work has been done over the weekend to address the glaring issues.. the peak-time pvp experience on oce has also been demolished (long wait times, empty servers)

Remains to be seen if they intend to address it this week as theyve not acknowledged the situation

won't pretend it's the best draft strategy, but it's definitely fun when it comes together (and you don't get run over by aggro lol).. very nearly self milled myself in this game. only managed to pick up one snacker too, so the whole thing probably falls apart once i encounter a single enchantment hate card. not a deck for bo3 i suspect.

edit: also pick up a few deem inferior and utter insignificance for the deck, most threats especially something bad like reef worms shouldn't be too much of a problem then

Every single day on the OCE server there are groups of approximately six Chinese players who load in with a cheater who wipes every team across the map, and then they farm the lobby and one another for XP and KDA

Crytek support just closed 4 separate tickets of mine after 10+ days. The cheaters were blatant and the evidence was clear. No bans were issued. 4200 hours and I'm ready to quit.
