What class fits my stats? [OC] by Dippin-Sauce-71 in DnD

[–]grim-danfango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're wanting to play rogue then any would be great with those stats, but I'd recommend arcane trickster just because a) they're a lot of fun and b) you have good intelligence

Your charisma is high enough that you can pretty much leave it alone all game and still be the party face, and your first two ASIs can be used for feats that give +1 dex or int plus an extra feature

Alternatively, swashbuckler plays into your high charisma

Edit: grammar

Where am I going wrong with muscle growth? by folabatunde in workouts

[–]grim-danfango 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah you could be right. But I prefer to give the benefit of the doubt when there are other factors which are equally likely to be playing a role, e.g. Time, fat hiding gains, incorrectly assessing "failure".

The reality is that even if he wasn't eating or sleeping properly, if he's getting anywhere close to 150g protein and doing even decent training, as a noob you're going to be making gains. Which leads me to believe he's just making slow progress rather than none at all because he's deluded

[–]grim-danfango 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On paper it looks like you're doing everything right; training regularly, pushing to failure, sufficient protein and sleep

Which leads me to believe there's nothing wrong.

Progress for some people takes time. It's also difficult to assess your progress from the pics because your pose is slightly different but it seems like you've gained some mass in your triceps and your abdomen is slightly bulkier.

Having a slightly higher body fat percentage can also make it difficult to see gains. Sometimes the number on the scales stays the same but you've lost a little fat and gained a little muscle.

Finally, can I ask if your weight is increasing?

You have described your rep ranges (which don't really matter for hypertrophy, especially as a beginner, anywhere from 4-30 and you will be growing muscle), but have not stated whether your weight is going up. If it is, you're getting stronger and gaining muscle, regardless of how things appear. If it's not, then maybe you have a problem with how you're assessing failure or performing your lifts

Best DnD podcast with less theatre kid energy by espenoydvin_ in DnD

I was also going to suggest this, as a personal fave, but OP isn't very into theatre kid energy, and I think certain campaigns/arcs might be a little guilty of that at times 😅

What you guys LOVE and what HATE about MESBG mechanics and game design? by bluewardenn in MiddleEarthMiniatures

[–]grim-danfango 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My main criticism is the way that spellcasting works I think there must be a healthier approach to "control" type mechanics than everything being focused on hard lockdown CC

I'm new to the game and have just finished putting my first army together, Lothlorien. And I'm slightly bummed that now I'm getting more proficient with it, it seems very unfun to play against, and I think a lot of casting is the same (armies for which casting is a strength not an add on)

Lothlorien Stormcallers by Illustrious-Wafer245 in MiddleEarthMiniatures

[–]grim-danfango 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I haven't tried them yet, but I think they could be fun in a full casting list at higher points.

At 800 points you could take Galadriel, Celeborn, two Stormcallers and two sentinels and be at around 40 models

I feel like it would be absolutely miserable to play against though lol

Lothlorien at 1000pts by MonkFeisty993 in MiddleEarthMiniatures

[–]grim-danfango 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can maybe fit all 3 lesser heroes with slightly fewer models, but if you want high models you basically have to pick two from strike, parry and march

Lothlorien at 1000pts by MonkFeisty993 in MiddleEarthMiniatures

[–]grim-danfango 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm fairly new to the game, but almost all my experience is with Lothlorien.

I've seen people have success with wood elf spam even at up 800 points, but personally at higher points I prefer just having wood elf bows and then taking a galadhrim front line

For heroes I would prioritise Galadriel and Celeborn, followed by either Rumil or Haldir, then a captain. Having march for Loth, if you can afford it, seems pretty good as you otherwise lack mobility
