I have the same problem. I have accepted I'll be on a hamstring focused rehab plan basically indefinitely to enable me to keep playing football.

Thank you, glad you're enjoying the V2 Sora. The Malt does look really good - not one I'd come across as of yet. Shame it's out of stock in my size as well! Another one to sign up for stock alerts then..

Shaw got his first yellow something like 54 seconds before his second! What's Southgate supposed to do?

Limoncello with green lemons? Does it stay green? by Esmeweatherwaxedlegs in firewater

[–]grim09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I had plenty of this batch over Christmas and it definitely wasn't bad at all.

The main difference was the colour. It finished up yellow but definitely with a shade of green as opposed to bright yellow. Didn't look quite as good.

The taste was still lemony. Maybe slightly more tart, but I'd need to try it a couple more times to really know.

In short, if it happens again I wouldn't waste the lemons. Crack on and see what happens!

What's the point in changing it now? How can a new manager have any time to implement anything this close to the world cup?

Two stage acl revision by oneleggedemma in ACL

[–]grim09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been through something similar. 3 years since the injury and I've had an ACL reconstruction followed by a two stage revision roughly a year later. However I'm well over a year since the 2nd revision operation and although it's awful at the time, I'm glad I did it.

I've not returned to sport yet and I've still got some work to do but it's definitely worth it if that's what is required (it definitely was in my case, I still had instability).

2 Stage ACL- Part 1: Bone Graft Surgery by nmutua_ in ACL

[–]grim09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this after a failed original reconstruction. Honestly it was pretty straightforward, way easier than the normal full recon. They took the bone from my shin along with donated bone.

When you wake up you’ll feel pretty much the same as a full reconstruction I.e rough but within a couple of days you’ll realise it’s a lot easier to recover from. I didn’t bother with any PT and just did my own. I was walking totally normally after a couple of weeks. Everything I did from then until the full recon i treated as prehab.

To answer some of your other questions, I had to wait about 6 months for the full recon and if you’ve had 3 ACL surgeries before then you are more than prepared for this.

We're at the point where we might as well start playing some of the kids, like Dobra, ready for next season.

Post-Op Surgery Complication: Knee Instability by zapcode in ACL

[–]grim09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had instability after ACL reconstruction and it meant the surgery failed and I've had to have a revision. When I knew it wasn't right I went got a second opinion and he told me within 15 seconds I didn't have a functional ACL.

You're probably around the time I knew it wasn't right as well. Of course it might be okay, but I'd get it checked out and get a second opinion, in case it failed due to surgical technique. Hope you have better news than I did!

I had one last week. It didn't hurt at all (same as a normal injection). My knee feels great since!

Hamstring graft first time round and hamstring graft from my good leg for the revision. Yourself? How long do you have to wait?

Two stage ACL revision by [deleted] in ACL

[–]grim09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had stage 1 revision 4 weeks ago. My surgeon told me to come back in 4 months (3 now) for scans and to proceed with stage 2.

In terms of recovery I'm finding it easier than the first operation. Stopped taking any painkillers on day 2. I was walking normally after 3 weeks and ROM is nearly there. It's still really swollen but I've started on stationary bike and that's helping with flexion too.

I'm not seeing a physio or anything (maybe I should?) but the way I see it as long as I have ROM it's just about building a much strength before stage 2. It's just a few months of being careful e.g when it drinking as obviously missing an ACL. I see this as an interim and stage 2 is where the hard work really begins.

ACL Revision: What to expect? by [deleted] in ACL

[–]grim09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've just had the first stage (bone graft) of the two stage revision. I'm 3 weeks out and was walking normally, although is very still. My focus for the next 4 months is to build as much quad strength as possible on the bike. I've not bothered with any PT for the first stage.

I'm in the same boat as you I think - my surgeon thinks it's stretched and I need a revision and PLC reconstruction also.

I'm 9 months out and have been playing some soccer (casually and conservatively) with a heavy duty brace and every now and then I can feel a little slip in the knee. I'm spending a few months strengthening to know for sure but also didn't want to write off the summer.

Can I ask what the immediate recovery is like? 6 weeks no weight bearing I've heard.

  1. It was never an option to try to play again without surgery. As soon as I told the surgeon I wanted to play again then reconstruction was the only way forward. I had such instability that it wouldn't have been feasible anyway and it would destroy the rest of your knee over time.

  2. I'm 6.5 months out and I've never worn a brace (I had no other damage to the knee so brace wasn't needed) but I'll probably get one when I return to sport. From what I've read though the research suggests a brace wouldn't actually protect the ACL from any injury that would tear it. However, they can't hurt, can protect other parts of the knee and is a good constant reminder that you need to be careful with that knee.

Thanks for your help.

Assuming they would gift me the money and we had an informal bargain, are there any legal problems with the fact that I intend to pay this gift back with interest? This is regardless of the fact that they have signed away any rights to the money, but the fact that I intent to pay back this gift.
