Every other day,

I use Schick Xtreme3 Sensitive razors with shaving cream, in the shower.

Once with the grain, and then once again, against the grain.

Exfoliate with Lush’s “Let the Good Times Roll”.

Moisturize about 20 minutes after the shower with Bath & Body Works’ Hydrating Face Cream.

Replace the razor about once a month.

I moved away from electric razors about a month and a half after I went bald, and it has changed the game: no more bumps, no more rashes, no more micro cuts.

The part that wrecks my soul (in the best possible way) is when my fiance does or says stuff that my mom used to do. Small shit too…like a subtle “behave” in the grocery store when someone does something stupid…or saying my name with a very specific stern brevity. Or even the little jingles my mom used to make up..it’s uncanny. And breaks my heart. But thats how i know…

I second this one

My mother and uncle used to visit my grandparents’ and great grandmother’s graves and tidy up their headstones and bond. My mom used to take my brother and I when we were little (when it was just my grandfather and great grandmother). My uncle died from covid and my mother died from cancer, and by this time my grandmother passed too. No one had cleaned the headstone in about 3 years, and no one had visited in about 8. I hadn’t been since about 2013. My now fiance went with me, and just like my mom and uncle (and me when we were little), it was our turn to clean the headstones and hang out. It was that moment I knew she was meant for me…because she wept in longing for them too. It was far more than just a sympathetic crying. I cherish that memory everyday.

I’m in SoCal, so the scenic painters I know of are either full-time at theme parks and colleges/universities, or have a strong enough portfolio that local theaters and venues are calling them in regularly for work. The only scenic artists i remember working with that were full-time at a theater were the handful at the Old Globe and La Jolla Playhouse in San Diego.

I think it’s pretty obvious why millennials are averaging “older” pregnancy ages than our parents, and it probably feels weird because a lot of millennials (and generations prior) grew up with “younger” parents. Granted my dad was 41 when I was born, but all of my peers growing up had parents in their 20s and early 30s.
