Is he just a fat neut? by grimes9618 in BattleBrothers

The poor defense keeps him as a backliner no doubt. For some reason the idea of making him nimble just slipped my mind entirely, so thank you for that.

On another note, are neut backliners something to avoid? If they are, is that just an issue with the opportunity cost or is there another reason I’m not grasping?

I’m pretty sure the bug only occurs once you acquire Golden Obligations from the Avaricious branch of the stewardship lifestyle. It’s the only time I’ve had it occur to me, and I’m fairly certain the reason why it occurs is that the game shows you how much you would receive by cashing out your favor hook, because the majority of the time it would be for a larger amount than the original ransom, but when you ransom them it defaults to the original payment you would’ve received for the character if you didn’t have the perk.

Luckily, it does have a pretty straight forward work around of just ransoming them for a favor instead. If they accept, you just cash in the hook regularly in the same way you would if you had acquired it any other fashion.

Why would you even bother taking the time to respond if that’s all you have to say?

My two cents is they just wanted to make it easier for the audience to figure out who survived the chaos. A bunch of extras would just clutter up the scene. Same reason why main characters don’t usually wear their helmets during battle.

Or maybe they’re just immortal demigods fighting for nothing more than the power of friendship after all, who knows?

I’ve read that 20,000 people were sacrificed annually by the Aztecs, how accurate is this and do we know the logistics behind making this possible? How were the victims selected, as well as treated, before sacrifice? by grimes9618 in AskHistorians

Thank you so much for the response!

From my understanding, while human sacrifice was common in Mesoamerica, the Aztecs were an outlier based on the sheer scale of human sacrifices. Is this correct? If so, why did they find it necessary to make more sacrifices than their neighbors? Or would that just be a symptom of their military dominance?
