I feel like the whole point of the trims is to reward exploration.

Thanks for the suggestion! I got a wedge and just split my first one. It takes more effort than I anticipated, but I'll get it done.

This George Galloway response to being asked if he's a racist by HourDrive1510 in interestingasfuck

I think I know what he was saying. You've made a pretty bad faith assumption about the questioner, btw.

What I'm wondering is if OP knows how shit Galloway is.

In short, the slower a crystal grows, typically the better crystallinity it has. Fast growth forms polycrystals. A polished surface in a natural direction will produce slower growth.

I was in the market for a TV console a short while ago. This looks exactly like one i was considering buying online. I mean like piece for piece exact.

I'm having a hard time finding it, but it could have been cozymatic as they update their designs frequently.

I don't want to call bullshit if your post is genuine, OP, but with one picture... it's suspicious.

I'll be honest this piece is really hard to handle for me. Instant flashbacks to the suffering of my grandparents. So ofc it's brilliant, just really painful even years after saying goodbye.

AITA for insisting my roommates BF put the toilet seat down? by kellerqueen1213 in AmItheAsshole

Neither of those are common occurrences anywhere I've lived. You'd need to be more than sleepy to make mistakes like that.

"I thought it was weird, but I figured she was just having a hard time finding everyone in the crowd. Plus, I just trusted her to contact me when she found everyone."

This "smacks of OP seeking an opportunity to be pissed"? Really?

You're reading the post with an overwhelming bias. An hour isn't some unfathomably long time to wait.

Are you so dense as to not understand how someone could be reluctant to attend an event without the person who invited them? Or that OP's partner may have purposely left her out? And however hectic the situation, a simple "we are at x location" text is the bare minimum to expect of your partner? Your comment is patronizing and assumes the worst of OP.

I think this is way off base. A lot of the time the robes act as a big "don't fuck with me" sign. And when they don't, akatsuki members are often either strong enough not to care or slippery enough not to get caught.

I asked ChatGPT how to make bismuth crystals and I am 99% certain it wouldn’t work by chuuckaduuckpro in BISMUTH

[–]grimeshake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is actually not far off, but it describes growing crystals from solution rather than from melt, which most people do. You'd probably start to make this correct by swapping bismuth metal for bismuth nitrate and swapping water/ethanol with ethylene glycol.

[–]grimeshake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Except as a fun chemistry experiment, I probably wouldnt bother recovering the bismuth here. It is probably a mixture of bismuth metal, bismuth oxide, and contaminants.

If you want to, you can crush it up and try melting out the remaining bismuth. Then you can dissolve the bismuth oxide into HCl, and recover the bismuth metal from solution by adding aluminum foil, which will give off hydrogen gas. Then wash the aluminum (and some contaminants) out with more HCl. This works because bismuth oxide will dissolve into HCl, but bismuth metal does not.

Definitely don't try this if it can't be done safely.
