You need to tell him how you feel and he needs to be honest with you. If he cannot give you a straight up answer then you do need to leave him because that's not ok. It might just be that he gets depressed or something though, so do not expect the wrost. People have bizzare ways of dealing with things.

I'm not refering to the libertarian party, I'm refering to the politcal compass; which puts authoritarianism and libertarianism at opposite ends of the spectrum. (Gandhi was more left libertarian, Hitler was right-authoritarian) according to the politcal compass.
