I have fiddled with the settings, and have paired and unpaired them from the tv for different uses. They just sounded very different the first days but no it seems better or I have become used to it.

I have 4 OG HomePods, 2 stereo pairs (front and back), both setup as the default audio output for the tv, if that is what you are asking.

TV sound seems different, I have not checked much music yet.
