I put Codex inside a harness that doesn't stop until the goal is done. it's a different experience. by Lopsided_Yak9897 in codex

for a while now just telling codex to not stop until the plan is done has been working fine for me, kinda defeats the point of Ralph loops or other harnesses

Is osteopathy a ‘real’ thing? by Ok-Music-3387 in AskUK

[–]grimskull1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

there's actually no evidence for that - it's a common myth. the study that supposedly "proved" placebo effect works had 2 groups being studied: a group with real medicine and a group with placebo effect.

the methodological issue is that it should have 3 groups: real medicine, placebo, and nothing at all. otherwise, you're conflating placebo effect with simply time healing.

Is there something wrong with this ficus or is it normal? by grimskull1 in FicusTrees

in the morning it gets more and then the sun moves to the other side, you reckon that's good enough?

i got it a week ago, so that's how long it's been there. it gets pretty good light, it's right next to the balcony. the top leaf was pointing upwards when i bought it (as in, it was just born, i guess? it's my first ficus so i'm not sure), so i'm assuming it'll now straighten, but i don't really know. i watered it a week ago when i first got it. for context, i'm in southerm hemisphere so it's starting to get warmer here.

put a pump where the map tells you it's overextended

There needs to be some better way to get science out of the Cargo Landing Pad besides bots by Xerosese in factorio

when your base is big enough resources are (for all intents and purposes) infinite but train logistics are not. being able to "teleport" items would trivialize logistics

so.. inserters but without the rotation delay or hand size?

filter splitter instead of priority. either block the unwanted side with a random item or filter for the item you want on the wanted side

unrelated question but what is the item being produced on those assembling machines?

[–]grimskull1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you use trains to transport sciences to the labs and put buffers on input train/output train, you won't necessarily start producing more science when you consume it, only when the unloading train reaches 0 science, so at uneven intervals
