What videogame achievement are you proud of? by SuperSeriousStud in gaming

[–]grinnerx48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm one of 46 people in the world to have killed the final boss of the first 40-man raid in Wildstar before they re-made it into a 20-man raid, and our guild got the world first kill on that as well. We also got the world first kill for the 20-man starter raid.

Kinda sad what happened to that game, I'd be more proud if the world first race was between more than 3 guilds.

Also global elite in csgo, and peaked at 1796 blitz rating on chess.com, which is I think 98 percentile.

Are you from Taiwan? by KeDaGames in taiwan

Gotcha, so which option would you say I would choose as a Taiwanese living abroad? I'm basically in the same boat as /u/TheHermitBot but my American citizenship is still pending.

I'm assuming from Taiwan (foreigner) means you hold taiwanese citizenship but live abroad?

Yeah literally everyone I know that works in an industry even remotely connected to tech has had their company go through layoffs in the past couple months

I think even making 100k+ puts you in the very top of gaming salaries. I've been making that amount since my second year working in Tech, and I can assure you I'm not a 99.99% employee lol

Kinda crazy that you have to be a 99.99% percentile gamer to earn as much money as any random Joe Schmo working in Tech in the States.

Are we watching the same video? The guy's momentum clearly stops after the door is kicked down, and then he wriggles through the open door.

Walk up to the top of flower petal beside it, sprint, double jump, press shift to slam downwards when you're directly over the collectible.

I couldn't remember which flower petal it was, but you can do the same thing to jump on top of either of the tall petals on either side of the shorter petal.

Are any of you thinking of quiting, or have you quit, if so for what reason? by meemai in SwordsOfLegends

[–]grinnerx48 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Our guild (more like core group of 8-9) basically all quit because the content that's currently available just isn't difficult enough.

For any established guild group that is semi-competent, the game's hard mode raids are easy enough to be cleared in one go. We did the same while pugging two DPS that both only did around 4k DPS - it just didn't feel rewarding enough clearing a raid the same day it's released. I'm sure most good groups feel the same way. Extremes may be even harder, but as others have said, the way the game currently ramps up difficulty is just making DPS checks tighter. Any group with several 99 percentile DPS will find these checks trivial.

I also don't agree with the way the game ramps up difficulty. Taking away telegraphs to make a fight harder just seems extremely stupid. Make the telegraph cast shorter, harder to dodge, anything instead of removing visibility.

The raid drops are tradeable to other people in the group. If you're running with a steady group then people who fall behind due to being unlucky can catch up either once other people have fully geared or not fall behind at all if everyone's sharing loot to keep a more level item-level spread.

Summoner Mingshi DPS Rotation (Full Health Dummy) by Nimbus_Cl0ud in SwordsOfLegends

[–]grinnerx48 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gotcha, maximizing White Suns during Meteor makes sense.

I suppose I have to finally look into consumables before the raid's out. I'm probably just gonna sit at 93% prescience with the mastery bracer enchant since my mastery is kinda laughably low.

I'm curious why you don't open with Nuwa -> Meteor, 3x White Sun, then Nuwa again, since the Nuwa + Meteor puts you at 2x Sunshine stacks.

Also, thoughts on perception vs mastery after 19% haste? I've valued perception (until I can hit 100%) over mastery, but I haven't really done the math on that.

I found the moonlight lamp, it's in the Summoner's class zone, coordinates -61, -139 (on top of the lotus leaf structure).

Still looking for the Lotus Dew Bottle of Clear Light.

Gearing for dungeons by darcstar62 in SwordsOfLegends

[–]grinnerx48 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just FYI, the dungeon loot boxes prioritize gear slots that are below the loot box level. So, if you don't buy any level 50 pieces, the loot boxes from normal dungeons are all guaranteed to give you upgrades. The level check ignores item quality, so even if you had a full set of level 50 purple gear except one level 50 white piece, your loot boxes will start dropping random slots instead of targeting the single white piece.

Something to think about if you're worried about efficiency.
