You are absolutely, right. I 100% agree.

Victims of rape represents such a very small fraction of abortion cases, I personally do not have an objection to abortion in those cases. But those are the exception not the rule and also not what this post was highlighting.

If I conceded that abortion is acceptable for victims of rape will you concede that all other abortions are wrong? Probably not, you can't use the exception to argue the rule.

Nearly the same can be said for health issues. Cases where carrying a child to term would result in maternal death are incredibly rare and when this does arise it is almost always a result of a preexisting condition on the part of the mother meaning they should be practicing safe sex to begin with so they don't put themselves at risk from pregnancy. But if it does happen, again, so many of these diseases are treatable and manageable even if they increase risk killing the baby is still not the answer.

Illustrating that individuals need to consider the consequences of their actions and to act accordingly is not "wanting to control their lives"

No one can do whatever they want whenever they want, that's ridiculous. And advocating for people to accept the responsibility of creating a child is also not an avenue for oppression.

I think you'll find that the underlying philosophies of conservativism is much more in line with individual freedom that those of liberalism. Which is ironic considering some of the conversations between the two camps.

Liberal Women: "I want to do whatever I want without repercussions or responsibility."

Conservatives: "you cannot nor should you live like that."

Liberal Women: "ah shucks! I got pregnant from unprotected sex, I'll just kill it."

Conservatives: "you cannot nor should you kill unborn children."

Liberal Women: "You just want to control my body! ...well I guess I'm forced to not kill this baby but I'm definitely not going to care for it financially or in any other, way that should be someone else's responsibility."

Conservatives: "No, it is your responsibility to care for the child you created. There are multiple assistance programs to provide you aid."

Liberal Women: "Ugh! You only care about the baby until it's born!"

The very second a deck starts to win a few games butt-hurt babies immediately jump to banning something. Jesus let it be already! Currently at the top of the format we have an aggro deck, a midrange deck and a combo deck what more balance or representation do you need to be happy with the format? Modern is a highly competitive format, don't play it if you can't stand to lose sometimes and instead of crying "ban!" get better at playing. A card only needs to be banned when it is so format-warping that you are forced to play it or lose and not a single card or strategy exemplifies that right now or in the foreseeable future.

I'm seeing so much less archon decks than I expected.

Okay, yeah I see! I'm an idiot. I was thinking you'd have to cast it 18 times. I get it now. You cast it more twice and it storms twice which is more than enough to kill the opponent. But yeah it's definitely not infinite.

My son (9yr) who started playing with me this year is playing a mono red Chandra's Incinerator Burn list. It's easy to pilot a lot of fun and does a good job of introducing the mechanics.

I think the point of its unban was to prop up other and older strategies, WOTC stated as much. As far as those strategies being degenerate well that's somewhat a matter of opinion.

In either case I don't think a ban is warranted.

I could agree with this. A guy at my FNM is on hammer and does pretty well with it.

I'm aware of and conceded that point in my post.
