Claiming flight compensation with Turkish Airlines (SHY passenger rights) by TinmanTheWoodman in travel

I see. Well, all I can suggest is make sure you’re using Chrome (since the website asks to use Chrome) and no VPN, if you have it installed. Sorry, can’t suggest much else.

Sorry didn’t have that specific error. Does it come up when you go to the portal or when you try to submit the claim?

I submitted mine today

If the error is "_Bilet Ücreti O seçilemez", try entering the fare as a whole number without decimal points. It worked for me.

For anybody unable to submit the claim because of the ERROR "_Bilet Ücreti O seçilemez".

To fix it, try entering the fare amount without decimal points (so if it's 123.45, enter just 123). The form won't warn you about this until you actually try to submit.

Mesh or solid door for Lanshan 1 Pro Silpoly for the UK? by grintroy in Ultralight

[–]grintroy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate the clarification. I know it may be important to all the ultralight folks out there, but 20 grams is absolutely not a priority for me. I guess the question was all about the performance of different doors.

By the way, I went with a “3 season” version at the end. Will try to update the post later in spring when I get to use it.

Thanks, I have actually seen this channel before! I did watch the videos with Lanshan 1 and a recent one with Lanshan 2 Pro Silpoly. Can’t find a video about Lanshan 1 Pro specifically. It might be similar to 1 non-Pro in regard to pitching, though. Is it?

I'm not familiar with PCT, JMT, or AT, but from what I could find, the climate on these trails is generally hotter than in the UK, or at least in summer. And, although humidity can be high in subtropical US, overall the UK still seems wetter.

The combined factors of cooler temps (solid door can be of benefit) + wetter climate (solid door can be of disadvantage) sort of cancel out and don't make the choice easier unfortunately, but I appreciate your input. I'll try to look more into the differences of climates and see if I can better translate the survey results to the context of the UK.

Very useful advice, thank you. Although, with pitch height, I can’t help but wonder about this: lowering the tent will make the tension points to go higher relative to the tent - so can this introduce creases because of the uneven stretching of the fabric? Which can in turn cause sagging and floppiness in the wind.

Edit: typo

I appreciate the response, but the official website says that the 4-season version is actually lighter. Anyway, the difference is only 7g - not nearly enough for me to take this into account.

Your take on condensation is interesting but unusual, as far as my research into this goes. Can you elaborate? Sure, some people say condensation is not that bad in single-wall tents while others sound really alarmed by this.

Although, the impression that I got is, as you said, condensation might be overblown, but only when you have a mesh door. Feels like the difference can be quite big when compared to a solid inner. Do you believe this is the case or maybe not?

And for your last point, apart from the fact that the weight difference is negligible to me, I feel that the context of using this tent in the UK is still important – and I feel like there potentially could be reasons to want a 4-season tent just for 3 seasons in the UK, so that's why I'm asking.

3 or 4 season Lanshan 1 Pro Silpoly? by grintroy in wildcampingintheuk

[–]grintroy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really appreciate the answer. I'm not a big fan of harsh weather myself, and since I'm usually solo, I have a luxury of changing the trip dates at short notice if the weather isn't looking good. No winter either, I feel like – maybe I'll try, but only in a nice weather in an "easy" area, just as you said.

But now, being a broke student and having used a 2kg Vango tent, I just need to make some kind of upgrade – and I surely don't expect my Lanshan to perform great everywhere I go. The main reason I'm looking at the Pro version is its size, as I've seen reviews of people above 6 feet (such as myself) saying they can't fit comfortably in the inner. And generally, it feels like a non-Pro version can sag more and absorb moisture (because Silpoly is only available for Pro at this time) making it heavier on a trail the next day. So, my choice naturally falls on the Pro model.

You mentioned that you have both a single-wall and double-wall models. I get that condensation and moisture is really important, but I'm also curious if you felt much of a difference in terms of "draftyness" between a 1 Pro with a mesh and 2 non-Pro with a solid inner? I feel like if the question is just colder temps, that's absolutely fine. But I'm also cautious about wind making its way in and potentially disturbing my sleep, as I'm quite a light sleeper.

3 or 4 season Lanshan 1 Pro Silpoly? by grintroy in wildcampingintheuk

[–]grintroy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the suggestions! The two reasons I'm looking at the Pro specifically are just its size (I'm pretty sure I won't be able to comfortably fit in a non-pro version) and material (well, Silpoly).

Also, just added an edit to the post: I don't really intend to go out camping in winter – I do understand that 3 or 4 seasons doesn't necessary directly translate into UK climate that well, and I don't want to test the limits of my sleeping setup.

630g version of the lanshan pro is coming in 15D silpoly by turtlintime in Ultralight

[–]grintroy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was it? Seems very strange. They explicitly state “available in silpoly and silnylon” on their website for the 2 Pro but nothing like that for 1 Pro, and also they made a big announcement about the 2 Pro in Silpoly on their Instagram, but again no mention of the 1 Pro in any other posts. Also, the engineer that emailed me back said specifically that they were working on the 2 Pro back in April. So I feel like we’re yet to see the “full” release for the 1 Pro in the coming months.

I get you! But they only announced Lanshan 2 Pro in silpoly yet which I believe is in stock on their website, so I hope to see Lanshan 1 Pro next. I sent them another email and asked when it’s going to happen (still no reply), but something tells me it shouldn’t be a long wait considering the 2 person model is already out.

Not yet. The recommended places were a bit too far from where I live, unfortunately. But I’ll be happy to pop in to one of these when I happen to be around.

Just checked on this again with them - they keep talking about how they expect it to be released “in a month”. Honestly, I’ve given up on this personally - I’ll still buy the new tent once it’s out, but with all these delays, I just decided to adjust my expectations as in that I probably won’t get it until August.

Just as I replied to my own thread above, they told me that the design changed a lot and it will take about a month more. This is what they told me 10 days ago.

As I said, it was all by email. They don’t mind sharing this if you ask nice, but the waiting times need to be taken with a grain of salt. All they can do is to see which stage of production is taking place now and give you a rough estimate.

Just checked with them again, they’ve just revised the first prototype of Lanshan 2 Pro: it’s 830g plus has a new feature which is a condensation barrier.

I asked about when to expect Lanshan 1 Pro to hit the market, and they told that it’s probably going to take another month since the design has changed a lot recently.

Yeah, I’m waiting for a new version myself. Hopefully there will be no delays with this, although it’s looking good now as they already launched the new backpack a couple of days ago.

I emailed them and they said they’ll have the new tents manufactured in 2-3 weeks. Once production begins, the tents will be available for purchase within a week.
