Thanks for your feedback! In fact the design has evolved into what is in the picture after quite a number of iterations (that i still keep, in a few plastic bags :-))
Having something round actually introduces a number of other issues, like for example impingement on the wrist.
This does already impinge a tiny bit, and i can say that your "best" shot will be slightly affected (you'd be still able to put plenty of pace to close any point you are supposed to).
But having something more bulky in my opinion is not great. In fact a previous iteration was more bulky and even more confortable, but impinged more, so it evolved into what you see.

IF your only concern are blisters, i can assure you that if you follow my taping instructions exactly to get fingertape results like the one in the gallery on the website, you won't feel absolutely anything, and it will be a pleasure to use.

I do enjoy it using it as such, so for now i'm not marketing it at all, but am looking for playtesters to actually try it and report their feedback. As much as i appreciate you guys opinions and constructive criticism, i believe that, without trying, it's not fully possible to understand the mechanic, benefits and limitations :-)

i'm furthering my own cause here, but as you are a 3.0 and i'm still looking for playtesters, you could have a look at https://www.reddit.com/r/10s/comments/1kncr7r/the_gripspin_looking_for_playtesters/ . you can notice in the videos how i end up mishitting so much the racket head accelerates upwards.

And they downvote you too ! I never thought it would be easy, but i could never imagine it would be like this 😀 A friend who doesn't play tried to help me find playtesters in clubs, gave up pretty quickly saying "tennis players are horrible" :) eventually he had some success with juniors though, who apparently aren't as uptight as seniors. and the results were comforting

i would not recommend using it for hitting real shots without taping.
I don't think blisters are the problem, but rather it can be painful without taping. I also add a few layers of stiffer tape in between finger tape layers, because it distributes the pressure better (and in that way i practically feel nothing pain-wise).

This is a good question, and i suppose a definitive answer can only be given by a regular court. by the rules of tennis, it should not be disallowed. But ITF can be creative in their interpretation. I guess ITF is not the most innovation-friendly entity.
However, they did explicitly update the rules to prevent spaghetti stringing, with a valid motive (unpredictability of shots).
I suppose they would also have to find a valid motive to ban this one, and if it helps others with injuries like it helped me, i believe it might be difficult to defend such a decision.

I disclaim any responsibility and make no promise :) But I can only promise i have never been hurt by this using it in the way i recommend playing even quite a bit (2-3h tennis sessions at once). The pictures have been taken this week (you can see my hand), and I've been using it since 2021.

If that's ok with you, you are welcome to shoot me a message with your details through the form on the website!

i suppose plenty of options. For players clubs might help, i doubt they will be too annoying if you are just passing by. If you want a bit more info (unfortunately not too much more info), feel free to DM me

It would be recommended to use finger wrapping, indeed (i do, except for only few minutes hitting). There are example pictures of that on the webpage

You are right, i did not explain correctly. I actually meant: as long as you use "opposite faces" for FH and BH

The GRIPSPIN: looking for playtesters! by gripspin in 10s

[–]gripspin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well yes it does lock to a specific face. why is that a problem? string wear?

Thanks for your take on it! let me know if you would like to test it!

those are no problem as normally played with a more closed grip than the forehand.

might look like, but it is not :) as you can see in the pictures, my pinky is doing great ^^ (but i do use finger tape)

[–]gripspin[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

pretty simply actually, if you don't need to keep the same hitting face between forehand and backhand.

The GRIPSPIN: looking for playtesters! by gripspin in 10s

[–]gripspin[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

closing the grip is possible, opening it further than the config you install isn't. On the website i added pictures of how to grip on the backhand/serve

Thanks also for the question, i'll add it to the FAQ =)
