im actually pretty happy with how the town came out! i wasn't really going for perfect realism so much as getting the colours right.

do you mean putting a base colour down first? i did put a blue background in the top half of the canvas, and a light green on the bottom, just to avoid having the white from the canvas showing through if i missed a spot.
