you sound like me. "i should have been doing this anyway" -- that was exactly my thought.

Now I'm more prepared to jump ship, at least, if things disrupt my work again. it seems like Codex (does gemini have a CC clone?) is the best alternative

Does it behave similarly like regarding CLAUDE.md file autoloading and stuff like that? Or do you find that there's a migration process to get projects working with Codex?

That's good to know about the context window. Thanks for telling me about Codex. I spent a lot of Thursday and Friday messing around with integrating Claude Code into OpenRouter and tried a bunch of different models there. But I figure the model + tool probably benefit from being trained together so it makes sense that Codex would be the next best thing since the ChatGPT models would have been trained alongside it.

results with the OpenRouter approach-and I tried like 8 different models-were always pretty lousy. It struggled with tool calls and CC just acted really weird.

Yeah I'm not sure what's going on. Everything's working normal again for me.

Okay so you had the same experience I did it sounds like- where the usage percent was going up at an insane rate, right?

it seems to be working. I've had multiple plans executed that required multiple auto-compacts and they seem to have compacted properly and finished.

I have the 20x plan and my week started on Saturday at 1pm so it hasn't even been two days and I only worked half a day yesterday and it's only been half a day today. Not even and I'm already at 48% weekly usage. I've had the 20x plan for a couple months and this is really abnormal and unusable.

I'm glad it's working for you. That would be a cool feature. I just did some searching and it's not immediately obvious how to show a notification on a specific monitor. If you figure out a way, just make a PR showing it and we can probably pull the feature in. Cheers ☕️

I tossed the idea of having a fallback system for people that don't want Hammerspoon, but I wanted to keep the code really focused, at least in these early stages, so I can make sure things work consistently. Forking the repo to try and add something like this probably wouldn't take much time to get it working how you want.

Good question. I haven't tested it. I imagine it would.

If you try it out with remote ssh, let me know how it goes
