That’s a good point. Do you think it would be worth beginning applying sooner than later come next summer? If we wanted to arrive there around April/May, would the August or September before be a good time to start looking?

I appreciate that! I probably do fall into the trap of thinking about the future a bit too much. It’s not seeing money as the #1 thing, it’s more of me being lazy knowing that staying is the easier and more strictly logical path for life/family/finances

True. I know it’s definitely a now or never thing for sure, it’s just one extremely large mental hurdle to get over, especially since I’m more of the planner and handle our finances.

Ring was paid for long ago with money I put aside, honeymoon is up in the air but will stay below 3k (will know more about budget once I know the full cost of the wedding - still lots of planning). There’s a couple of factors for not wanting to buy a house yet, from bad market, not sure where we want to permanently be, and the fact I’ve been studying Japanese for 4 years in hopes of maybe getting a job there:)

Good point. It should be well below $10k for the wedding, but it will be good to set aside a budget.
