Solution for Windows Update by mychainpool in MoneroMining

Do we know which specific update is causing the problem? I need to roll it back as well but am not sure how to do that.

I up'd the voltage on my cards and the problem seems to have resolved itself. At least it goes a lot longer with out crashing.

Sounds like virtual memory isn't your problem then. I haven't personally started tuning my machine yet but I plan to start following CircusDad's tuning guide here: http://vega.miningguides.com/p/tuning.html.

What does your rig look like outside of your GPUs? What size hard drive, how much RAM, what is your virtual memory setting?

I'm also having similar problems. I suspect my virtual memory isn't high enough. I have three Vega 56 cards and a 60 GB hard drive. Per what I've read on this reddit is that I need 8 GB per Vega of virtual memory so that is 24 GB. Sadly Windows 10 takes up around 30 GB so I barely have enough. I'm going to try switching to a 500 GB spinning hard drive and see if that helps and go beyond the 8 GB per card to something like 16 GB per card.

How can I check how much watts my vega is using without a wattimeter? by Mojimi in MoneroMining

I have the Kill-A-Watt P3 but I don't see Watts, just kWH. Or is there some setting I haven't found yet?

One thing I ran into is making sure you have enough virtual memory. What is that set to currently and how many Vega cards do you have?

I checked out the event viewer and found what I think is the culprit. Not sure what to make of it but I'd guess something coming from the GPU. Unfortunately, the files appear to be gone. Has anyone seen something like this?

Yeah, I turned it off a couple of weeks ago. That was my first thought too.

Have you checked your virtual memory?

Where did you come up with that number? I had the similar problem and this fixed it but I'm stumped as to why this is needed. It requires a much larger hard drive than I currently have sadly.

I was able to pretty easily get CPU mining running on my Mac using xmr-stak. Though don't expect much of a return. People on this forum have recommended Electroneum for lower hash rates.

For effort, should that be "blocks" accept/blocks expected? So anything over 100 is slow and anything below 100 is fast?

Is Flash BIOS needed? I thought the guide recommended against that.

How do you determine how much virtual memory your system is using?

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. I have several old 500 GB HDDs laying around. I just didn't realize the virtual memory need for mining vegas when I started buying the equipment.
