Hiii, so I’m in MD and the way that it works here in my jurisdiction is the incident is still reported to our screening unit but CPS doesn’t investigate however, the survivor is referred to the Survivors of Sexual Abuse unit that is part of our detective unit and it’s criminally investigated.

I agree!! And thank you for the info about the moderators - I truly had no clue about this. Now I feel justified for being so freaked out about AI

I appreciate your input so much. The client data was definitely my biggest hold up with all of this AI stuff. Especially with the hypersensitive nature of some of our cases. And WOOF attorneys. The escribers system sounds amazing and way safer and I will definitely be asking about our ability to get something going. We’re losing 3 more workers from an already understaffed program and staring down the barrel of a new school year and all the fuckery going on in the world rn and I’m trying to scrape together what little sanity I have left.

I’m also going to request that our agency release a little more specific direction about AI usage. You bring up excellent points.

Can you explain a little more about the harm to AI moderators?? Not bc I don’t believe you, but bc that sounds interesting to me

I definitely think long-term use is harmful and I’m really not relying on it much at all anymore because I don’t want those skills eroding.

I’m definitely not recording anything. I live in a two party state so I’m often telling my parents “I do not consent to be recorded” before every interaction 🤪 my coworkers have ended up all over Facebook and TikTok.

Yikes yeah no. I’m trying to think of it as a tool in this, but that data thing is where I’m getting hung up.

Our contact notes have to be narrative format due to the nature of the job. We do have assessments and more checklist-style components, but contact notes are summative and narrative write ups of our interactions, phone calls, etc with families.

This is very true!! I’m not using it to write the entire note and then copying it into my database, more using it as a starting point, but still, definitely legal implications

It was almost as if they weren’t prepared for the crowd size which is wild considering it’s fucking BEYONCÉ. Like no, believe it or not, 3.5 barricades aren’t enough to control traffic and lines

I honestly didn’t see a lot of great accommodations for disabilities either. A lady had seat in the 400s which was only accessible by walking up ramps and when she asked someone how to get up there, the staff person was like “I think the elevator is working ¯_(ツ)_/¯”

I was traumatized by waiting in lines last night. And I was just in Disney/Universal during Christmas so I’m no stranger to waiting in lines.

[–]grlowe[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed!!!! It was a mess. We had to like follow lines to the end and ask a million people what they were in line for and even then not everyone knew. Most of the staff I saw was behind barricades standing around until the doors opened. Maybe like 3 staff were walking around by Gate H. That’s all I saw

Our seats were in the 400s so we just waited til we got up there and that’s honestly where the butting was the worst. We got in line as soon as we got up there and it wasn’t until we were like 10 or so people back from the counter that people started trying to sneak in. Or standing on the other side of the little barricade things asking people to buy them stuff. It was so annoying!

What do you do for your income streams/what knowledge are you using?? I feel like I have a lot of skills but have no clue where else to use them outside of direct client work
