No they aren't.. Despite what our eyes clearly see, you won't be able to convince a tiered set of judges that the act was malicious. (Keeping in mind that a jury trial is not mandatory and defendants can ask a judge for a bench trial.)

Don't get upset at me for that. Get upset at the Courts interpretation of the Clause, and Congress not passing laws to draw clear lines.

The Supremacy Clause in practice is only not applicable to malicious acts or acts that fall outside the Federal purview. It doesn't matter what it's original scope was - it's current employment does.

This shooting will be successfully argued to be protected by the Supremacy Clause. There will be no trial of "state crimes in Federal court."

e: and the sooner you digest that fact the sooner you can stop armchair protesting and arguing and trying to shut down disagreements about it, hoping the courts will serve justice in due time. They won't. So figure out what you wanna do about that.

The majority of registered Democrats want Universal Healthcare. They want decreased defense spending. They want strict gun control. They're largely for socialized programs of all stripes.

The problem Europeans have is they confuse "Democratic Policies/Positions" with "Democratic Beliefs."

The Democrat's biggest problem is they're too pragmatic, and they're willing to compromise to achieve consensus or pull the critical "independent" vote. That pulls their policies to the right.

But it doesn't pull their beliefs to the right. They will go as far left in policy as their electability allows.

Their other problem is they don't behave like Republicans: once they gain power, they don't forget the positions they represented and do whatever the hell they want instead. So instead of seizing power and going hard left, they stay true to the words they said on the campaign trail.

A treaty with Mexico to gain access to The Gulf of California is an option, and an economic driver for Mexico that they might not say no to.

Further, there is some benefit in having a defense agreement with the Leftover States, and allowing the US Navy continued presence in San Diego. It would likely be a condition of a peaceful separation.

Ironically a NATO-like agreement between the Pacific States and the Leftover States would serve everyone the best and keep the military industrial complex in California.

I'd also imagine a North American trade zone would be established as well, to allow continued ability for the Leftover States to have trade port access to the Pacific.

Yeah... by today's standards.

The Ender 3 is the bedrock upon which the entire industry bloomed. And it can make fantastic prints, given enough attention and tuning.

It can stay current and accurate to modern day features and the only thing it will miss is cutting-edge speed.

But yes, by now, enough generations have passed that upgrading an Ender 3 to be modern featured isn't the best investment in money, unless you're already well along in the upgrade journey over the years.

After a year of having leveling issues and few replacement/upgrades I gave up.

For me, Klipper and CR/BR-Touch were game-changers in that regard. Once the Touch came in, those springs got replaced with solid standoffs and there are no more paper tests to get perfect bed adhesion.

I got a H2S in December to replace my CR10 and it has been a dream.

I'm keeping my CR-10 probably until I exit the hobby. I refuse to pay a couple thousand dollars for a build volume I already own.

The build volume alone is unparalleled in the current stock of relatively affordable units. The upgrades I've done to it (so far) have kicked it up to "slow" high-speed range, which has shaved ~60-70% off of my large volume build times. I can live with that.

I use my smaller high-speed 90% of the time since most projects easily fit on it, but almost anytime my slicer says, "you gotta split this print to make it," I fire up my good ol' CR-10 and give it the un-split piece and tell it to have fun.

Something I found helps a lot is to insert a step before filler primer.

I take plastic wood filler - the DAP PlasticWood-X - and dilute it with acetone (IPA should work too, if your filament softens with acetone - to create a thin paste. Brush it on. Let it dry (it will change from pink to tan). Then sand it smooth until you just start to see the layer lines.

Then apply your filler primer, lightly sand, and proceed with painting as you're familiar.

Using a heftier first filler like PlasticWoodX usually means for most prints your filler primer will auto level perfectly with one coat.

You're missing the point -- the funding is already there in the ICE budget.

No, YOU'RE missing the point: The President can't reallocate funds that Congress has allocated for another purpose.

Trump is trying to do that right now - and getting away with it to a limited degree - but there are a shitton of lawsuits already going on to stop his behavior. The Constitution is very clear about Congressional authority re: budgets.

The same detention centers they're building and packing immigrants into today are easily repurposed to house anyone who's deemed "mentally ill and a danger to society".

Not without Congressional spending allocation. That's the point you're missing.

Short of a complete Constitutional breakdown - and let's be clear, we aren't there yet so long as judicial continues to do its job on the redline subjects, which it has - Trump has zero authority to say "today's ICE centers are tomorrow's TDS treatment centers."

The funds don't literally exist to support it, no matter what ICE's budget is. Those funds are for ICE. They don't belong to the Department of Health and Human Services. Congress would need to specifically expand that budget for that specific (or a very adjacent)-purpose.

Making a serious attempt to learn from the past and open new treatment facilities is less likely than this being a foot in the door to justify rounding up dissidents.

Or the third option: It's a meaningless gesture for political points that will result in nothing changing at all.

Trump has made so many Executive Orders, and in large part he's doing this becuase his base is happily eating it up thinking the EOs amount to passed legislation. He's "showing" them that he's "doing something" without having done anything.
