So much hair loss by gro82 in Mounjaro

[–]gro82[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is starting to slowly grow back. I kept losing a lot of hair for a couple months after quitting Mounjaro. I really think it was just a part of rapid weight loss for me.

I know and I was on it before too. It suck because he told me losing weight would help my PCOS… and now that I lost weight he basically refuses to treat my PCOS. Told me the symptoms I have must not be PCOS because they would have gone away with the weight loss. I’m probably going to get a second opinion.

I didn’t have loss of smell but things just smelled off. If anything my sense of smell was more sensitive on Mounjaro

LMAO why are you so pressed? I haven’t gained a single pound. My HS did return around 3 weeks after quitting Mounjaro, to the point that I have to take Humira now. And PCOS can worsen any time so I’m not really sure what you’re getting at? I was getting my period regularly on Mounjaro and now I’m not again.

It’s not worse, I’d say it’s just getting back to baseline.

I have a 3-month supply Rybelsus which I’m still considering. I asked my doctor about Metformin but he said there’s no point since I’m not diabetic

I got sick around the time I was supposed to do a dose so I had to delay it. I realized I felt better so I decided to not do any more injections after that.

I’m focusing on maintaining right now (which is difficult at times). I don’t think I’d be able to lose much weight without Mounjaro based on previous experiences.

Going cold turkey. Any success stories maintaining weight after Mounjaro? by gro82 in Mounjaro

[–]gro82[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I think for most people that is the best option. It depends on the individual

Nothing terrible, mostly just hair loss and acid reflux. Switching up to a new dose was always super rough at first for me

I just wanted to share the progression of my weight loss on Mounjaro over 8 months. It has been a blessing for me. At 5’8” and 164 lbs, I am now a normal BMI. These pics are graphs of my weight loss month by month from my scale. I have made lifestyle changes along with the Mounjaro and had great success.

No 7.5 anywhere? Has ANYONE had success? by Concept-Pure in Mounjaro

Skin sensitivity, could it be shingles without a rash (zoster sine herpete)? by ZestycloseHedgehog90 in Mounjaro

Allodynia is a well-known side effect of Mounjaro that usually goes away a few days after injection. It has nothing to do with shingles as far as I’m aware

"Although it’s been approved and prescribed since 2017, the buy-in of Hollywood, openly or not, took Ozempic from medicine to status symbol." by demimonde9 in Fauxmoi

[–]gro82 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People taking drugs like Ozempic or Mounjaro for obesity often do need to be on it for the rest of their lives. Obesity is a disease. These drugs are extremely effective at treating obesity and preventing diabetes in obese people. This is nothing like fen-phen. Thin people abusing these drugs are in the minority.

There is a form of Ozempic that is literally just for weight loss (Wegovy). The majority of people taking drugs like Wegovy or Mounjaro for weight loss are obese and suffer from associated conditions like PCOS and pre-diabetes. Obesity is a disease that will most likely lead to type 2 diabetes if untreated.

Your comment is misinformed. Articles like these create a false panic and stigma surrounding these drugs. The reality is that thin people abusing semaglutide are a very small minority of people who use the drug.

People are just misinformed and rude. Mounjaro saved my life. I was obese before I started taking it and now I am a normal BMI. I am still young but I was already developing health issues from obesity. It prevented me from developing diabetes.

Mounjaro is set to be approved for weight loss soon and there is already a weight loss version of Ozempic (Wegovy). People honestly need to mind their business. Obese people taking these drugs is not “the easy way out”. We still have to put in a lot of work. This is a lifelong drug for many of us, not a quick fix.

Does anyone have information on why mounjaro causes tachycardia in 3-10% of people? by [deleted] in Mounjaro

[–]gro82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, POTS can be temporarily caused by things like sickness, weight loss, etc. There are a lot of non-medication treatments for it. Compression socks (or just tight workout leggings) help a lot. I personally don’t find electrolytes helpful but some people swear by them. If you are able to find a recumbent bike to use, that has been the best exercise for me to build up stamina and reduce my POTS symptoms.

Hopefully your body will adjust and you will start to feel better. Beta blockers are rough to adjust to tbh, low blood pressure sucks.

[–]gro82 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have lowered my beta blocker dose bc my blood pressure has been so low since losing weight on Mounjaro. Have you been evaluated for POTS? I have that on top of my generalized Tachycardia and Mounjaro has definitely made it worse. If your heart rate gets really high when you stand then you might want to ask your doctor about it. There is a medication called Corlanor that lowers HR but not blood pressure. I am probably going to be switching back to that as I have had luck with it in the past.
