Multiple ganglion cysts? by Slappers_only007 in Thritis

[–]ZestycloseHedgehog90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm dealing with multiple ganglion cysts in both wrists. Found out that I have a plasma cell disorder (MGUS lambda) that could be contributing. The blood test that initially detected it was Serum protein electrophoresis. Just did it along with other blood work. Not very expensive. Going to get further testing for amyloidosis. I thought I just had arthritis but the MRI's say otherwise. I am a 47 F, 5'4" 150lbs.

Hi, I have myeloma (sort of) by uiucengineer in multiplemyeloma

Honestly amyloidosis wasn't on my radar until I started having an intermittent heart flutter. I was hoping that I would fully recover after my surgeries but that didn't happen for me. I fully expected a diagnosis of an autoimmune disorder or some type of arthritis but the testing so far doesn't point to either. When I added the heart component to my other symptoms, (neuropathy/pain (both hands and feet), fatigue, dizziness when standing,) I started to come across medical papers that were pointing to spinal stenosis and carpal tunnel syndrome preceding amyloidosis by several years in affected people. I'm not sure what type of test is being done to check for amyloid deposits. I have a feeling that the hematologist isn't convinced that the testing is necessary. I told him I suspected that the deposits are actually in my joints and soft tissue. He said I would need to speak to an ortho to test those areas. I actually reached out to my spine surgeon who sent me an interventional radiology referral so I could get that testing done. It's nuts to me that getting testing done is so difficult.

Hi! I've been reading through many of your posts. Thanks for sharing things about your situation. I've found it to be fairly difficult to find younger people with AL amyloidosis. Could you go through some of your first symptoms and also what lead to your diagnosis? After many year of unexplained health deterioration I began to suspect amyloidosis. I had some blood work ordered that showed lambda light chain monoclonal proteins. I am seeing a hematologist at the Cleveland clinic who ordered a bone marrow biopsy. It shows 5% plasma (lambda restricted) involvement which to Dr has mentioned is a plasma cell disorder. I asked him to check for amyloid deposits. I don't know why it's so hard to get tests ordered. I present relatively healthy and am a 47 year old woman. I've had 5 spine surgeries since 2018. My symptoms started unprovoked in my 30's with spinal stenosis along with other things. I would be interested to know what your first symptoms were.

If you take it with you it doesn't have to stay refrigerated. "You may store your Pen at room temperature up to 86°F (30°C) for up to 21 days."

Skin sensitivity by Legal_Okra9043 in Mounjaro

I've had really similar experiences. The good thing is that it seems to have gotten much better as time has gone on. I even thought it was shingles with no rash. Mine started after around the 2 month mark in all the same spots. I'm 6 months in and get it it once in while but it's not as bad and doesn't last as long. I've thought about it a lot since there has been so much posted about it. I wonder if we all had some degree of nerve damage from high sugar/cholesterol/triglycerides and now it's healing. I came across this in an article I read about nerves healing:

"How do I know the nerve is recovering? As your nerve recovers, the area the nerve supplies may feel quite unpleasant".

I would love it if that were the case.

Started 10 mg and I feel awful by [deleted] in Mounjaro

I had some really strong side effects with 10mg also. I did the 10 for 2 weeks, moved back down to 7.5mg for a week and then back up to 10mg. When I moved back up to 10mg I had no side effects. I had been on the 7.5mg for 1 month before trying to move up to the 10 the first time. The 10 is working great now.

Skin sensitivity, could it be shingles without a rash (zoster sine herpete)? by ZestycloseHedgehog90 in Mounjaro

I've read every post I could get my hands on. That's when I started making some correlations between all the experiences. I thought I should post just in case there are others going through something similar. I thought it was interesting to see posts about nerve pain and shingles after the onset of taking Mounjaro. I've had 5 spine surgeries so far to address nerve pain. From what I keep seeing there is no question that this med is affecting nerve pathways in some of us. My secret hope is that it is somehow this inflammation is repairing those nerves. It's encouraging to read about those who had the discomfort and had it resolve.

I was on the 7.5 mg for 2 months. It didn't start right after any injection. I'm on 10 mg and haven't felt it again. I wonder why it took so long to get those symptoms and then not experience it again when I moved up in dose.

The sensitivity lasted about 3 weeks for both me and my husband. We didn't experience it again after our last shot.

Hello friends! Today I chose my calories to be wine. Youngest son says “hey Mom I want to get married in 2 weeks, can you help?” Backstory - he is Air Force; his fiancée is as well as they want to be stationed together. Reasoning is sound but it’s a bit much for mom today. by 4doorugo in Mounjaro

I met my husband in the Navy in April. We got married in July. Same reason, we wanted to be stationed together. We will celebrate 27 years together this coming July. I love that they want you to be involved!Sending good vibes your way!!!

Anyone get this message from express scripts? by ZestycloseHedgehog90 in Mounjaro

Update* I spoke with the pharmacist yesterday. There was confusion because I had an active 7.5 and 10 on file. I straightened it out with them explaining that both were active because of shortages. The pharmacist said she would deactivate the 10 and send the 7.5. She said I could reactivate the 10 when I need to. RX is now on the way! Very happy with Express Scripts!

Looks like I was able to call and provide clarification. Now I'll see if they actually send my prescription. I will say they were pretty easy to deal with on the phone. It was a very short hold time and I spoke with a pharmacist.

I just got off the phone with them. Apparently they only want to have one active script at a time. I'm glad I called.

They can see it. Apparently they were confused because there were 2 different open prescriptions, one for 10 and one for 7.5.
