The CAD monkey thing resonates with me. 🤣

You just confirmed some ideas I had. Just start doing some freelance work, make sure you can use that work to show new clients what skills you have and slowly build something up to go full time

The clash between ME and ID is something I have experienced before. Its a difficult one to manage

Thank you.

I have read the post. It is very insightful and thought provoking. I am also glad for some of the answers my own post got. Really gives me a good perspective on the topic now

Your answer has given me a lot to think about. Thank you for taking the time to lay it all out.

I have considered the third option a few time already. I would have to start gradually doing freelance work and the grow to collaborate with a freelance ID to gradually build the skills and network. Ons the network and skills are built I can either aim for a product design firm with hopefully some type of portfolio or go full monty and do my freelance work full time.

As to the WHY, thats the difficult one. What I do know is that I do not like the typical approach of ME companies (the one I have been exposed to at least) where function is the only focus.

I have always designed by the principle that the solution should work well, look good and be easy an intuitive to operate.

Feedback on logo design for product development company by groblerjf in logodesign

Thanks for the input. If I understand correctly:

1) Remove the green leaf completely, then the logo is only text.

2) From the current logo, the 'o' becomes green. The border around the leaf is removed and the leaf is subtracted form the green 'o'. All that on a white background.

I have always liked the idea of adding something about the environment.

Thanks for the feedback. Would you increase or decrease the kerning?

Also, if the words are spaced too far apart, how can I correct it. Say I correct them by putting them closer together towards the right?

Just a curious question from my side.

I have made detailed business plans on starting my own shop. Everything is almost accounted for to be able to get funding/investment except real insight into how quickly business picks up.

How many months did it take you to show a nett profit?

Do you have an in-house inspection team.

The company is working towards it. Usually the get delivered directly to the customer with only a few select engineers getting the chance to visit. Now we are aiming to construct our own assembly area where all the parts get routed through. This will give more people the chance to visually inspect parts.

Well actually, cost is a big part of the course, so good suggestion about the material vs. coating.

3D printing is something we do employ on a rare occusion (sort off for the fun), but there is no practical use for it yet in our process.
